500 ml screwcap bottle, simply named "Engel Dunkel", confirmed by the brewery website. Bought at Otto Duborg, Flensburg, Germany. ABV is 5.3% (label), brewery website says 5.2%. Unpasteurised but filtered. This is their ordinary Dunkel, not to be confused with their unfiltered Engel Kellerbier Dunkel. Beautiful clear chestnut colour, large and lasting off-white head. Pleasant malty aroma with strong notes of bakery, chocolate and caramel. Moderate carbonation. Malty sweet flavour with a moderate roastiness, notes of Danish pastry, hints of over-ripe berries. Some hops in the finish.

thewolf (12629) - Kolding, DENMARK - APR 11, 2006
Pours light brown with non-existent head. Aroma is limited but slight whiffs of malts and caramel. Medium body and a nice taste of sweetness and caramel to begin with ending on a more bitter note.

MiP (15920) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 9, 2006
Bottle. Rough hop aroma. Greyish chestnut colour. Stable, semi-creamy head. Roasted flavour, also a little rough. Aftertaste is hop aromatic.

pivnizub (10662) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - OCT 14, 2005
Bottle: Amber to brown coloured; thin and lasting white head; sweetish malty nose, fruity vinous traces and a tinge of roasted malts; quite dry (roast)malty taste, hints of milk-chocolate; light bitter, but mainly malty finish; quite light bodied, lacks a fuller body; to be really good a bit too thin; a not unpleasant Dunkel, though.........

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 7, 2005
