It pours very deep brown with a dense tan head. The aroma has thick bread, toffee, Abbey yeast, dark caramel, candy sugar and smooth toasted malt. It has a pretty thick body with a light amount of carbonation. The taste has dried bread, figs, molasses candy swimmers and caramel. The finish shows some alcohol, but it’s warming and gentle. Pretty nice.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2016 Dit bier heb ik gedronken met de schoonfamilie. Het is een lekker donkerrood bier, met weinig schuim.

33cl bottle. Dark brown pour with a tall tan head. Smells tart and vinous, like grapes, sour milk, vinegar, yeast and spices. The taste adds overripe bananas, red wine, dried fruit (mostly prunes), dark fruit jam, a bit of chocolate, burnt caramel (mostly the bitter part than the sweetness), rosemary and a warm alcohol finish. Quite a complex and enjoyable brew.

Aged 3 years. Plummy purplish Amber hue with a fast dissipating head. Rich plummy sweet and raising nose with a little purple fruit and Belgian boozy depth. Huge rich flavor full of raisin, sweet plum, a little port wine and sherry barrel, and a lovely sweet boozy background.

Drank from a 500ml pint glass, poured from a 330ml bottle. Thank you Bjorn! Pours a nice deep dark brown with a bit of beige head. Nice malty aromas, a real decilicous Quad!

KoNrRiI (1512) - Århus, DENMARK - JUN 11, 2016
0.33 bottle. A very hazy, brown color with some suspension and a small, tanned head. A vinous aroma marked with barrel, port wine, dark fruits, and some yeasts. Taste is also that of port wine, dark fruits, wood, and damp - quite sweet. A medium body, a creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long, fruity, and simply put good. Overall the beer is good, a tad off-balance but drinkable.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2017 330 ml bottle. Pours dark chestnut with a light brown head. The aroma is yeasty with some malt, spices and hard to define sweetness. Full body with oily texture and flat and very convenient carbonation. The taste starst sweet and slightly acidic (fruity acids). Heavy of roasted malt (caramel), toffee honey and some alcohol. Very full and appealing beer with a warming alcoholic feeling.
