Donker bruin tot zwart kleurig bier. Aroma doet me denken aan een stout. Geroosterde mout, wat honing en wat rozijnen. Smaak is geroosterd, bijna rokerig, honing en wat alcohol.

330ml bottle. In the cellar for roughly a year and a half. Pours a hazy dark garnet with some VERY serious sediment, and a orange tinged tan head. Smells like Christmas. Candied fruit, brown sugar, dates, raisins, light molasses a faint resinous note, and many other things that make me think "fruit cake". Sticky sweet to a fault with raisin, light spice, a very faint mineral note, mild booziness, brown sugar, and faint licorice that heads into boozier notes, MUCH MUCH more of the dried fruit, light spice, some molasses and more sweetness with very mild bitterness in the finish. I’m happy to have tried it, but I don’t think I’ll venture down this path again. SO sweet.

Barwa ciemno rubinowa, br?zowa, nie mo?na powiedzie? aby by?a klarowna. Br?zowa piana, ?rednio wysoka i ?rednio trwa?a. Aromat likierowy, nieco winny i wytrawny.

Aroma: Rich, malty upfront. Medium-light banana. Light spiciness. Appearance: Hazy, brown body with red highlights. Very small, light-brown head. Low retention. Flavour: High rich, maltiness, bread crusts. Alcohol notes, floral. Light spiciness. Dry finish with lingering warmth, rich maltiness. Mouthfeel: Alcoholic warmth is present, but not overpowering or unpleasant. Medium-full bodied with very smooth carbonation. Overall: Missing the head retention that is associated with the style. The alcohol is there and not harsh. Malt is the star of this beer, and it shows. Very yeasty on the pour, which is quite strange for the style. Good, but not as complex as other trappist beers. 330 ml bottle, poured. 26D. Belgian Dark Strong Ale

Aroma of malt, plums and grapes, pours a cloudy brown color with a lasting tan head with nice lacing. A full bodied mouth feel with a taste of plums and raisins with a slightly tangy malt finish.

Bottle. Dark brown tiny beige head. Aroma of plum, caramel, fig, apricot. Taste is sweet; plum, sirup, woody, sugar, dark chocolate. A little bitterness in the end. Long lasting aftertaste and 10% vol. was well hidden. Nice beer!

Bottle. Brown in colour, large head. Aroma of caramel, burned sugar, some phenols. In taste malty, fruity (raisins, figs and cherries) with caramel, liquorice, quite sweet, bit boozy. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, finish is boozy, dry and bitter. Solid quad.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 4th December 2016, poured into a Chimay goblet glass. It poured a cloudy dark brown colour with a one finger tanned head that dissipated quickly but settled to a thin creamy layer with sparse lacing. Aromas of roasty chocolate and caramel followed by strong dark fruit, plum, prunes, raisin, figs and fruit cake. Tastes of sweet dark fruit plum, prunes, raisin and fig. Syrupy toffee, caramel and molasses. Also a hint of banana, mocha and alcohol. Lightly sour here and there. Creamy, full bodied with moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall it’s ok, but mainly too sweet and boozy for my liking.
