ToolHead (266) - København, - AUG 30, 2012
33 cl. bottle. Rated 30.8.2012. B.B. 18.7.2014. Dark reddish brown w/ some sediment chunks. Decent, tan head. Deeply plummy, rummy and warmingly alcoholic w/ quite dry finish. A bit unrefined; will likely benefit from a little ageing.

laakus (159) - Nossebro, - JAN 5, 2018
Pours dark brown, near black in colour, with slight reddish tones. Lively sparkling with a toffeebrown coloured foam. Aroma is sweet, dried fruits, some nuttylike flavour, also quite bit alcohol pushing through. Very sweet, oily texture, dark dried plums is the main thing I notice before alcohol starts to dominate. Quite an unpleasant finish.

Too sweet and too much alcohol in this beer. Although I love most of the trappist beers this is not my favourite.

pitch992 (248) - SLOVENIA - DEC 30, 2017
Bottle from Pivoljub. Vanilla, chocolate, raisin, lots of alcohol (a bit too far forward), banana, chewing gum. Unexpectedly drinkable, quite pleasant. The alcohol could be a bit more mellowed and mixed into other aromas and tastes, otherwise a nice one.

Doft: quadsyrligt, torkade fikon, boozy, lätt av choklad, bränt socker, russin. Smak: bränt socker, torkade fikon, metall, lite choklad, lite kaffe, russin, en del alkohol går igenom.

Bottle from Carrefour, Nice. Dark brown with a thin head. Strong dark ale with a mild chocolate dryness, with the honey providing a gentle sweetness in both aroma and taste.
