Aroma is sweet and fruity. Lots of ripe fruits, toffee, caramel, alcohol. Pours a copper color with a decent lasting head. The flavor is very fruity and sweet. Lots of sweetness with toffee and caramel. Piney/floral hops in the finish. A tad warming, but I don’t know if this was 14.75%. Seemingly a little thin. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - OCT 26, 2008
Draft at the brewpub. Crystal clear coppery medium amber. Headless, laceless. Phenolic nose. Creamy medium body. Toffee and butterscotch mid-palate. Hides the booze reasonably well. jcwattsrugger (12525) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - OCT 15, 2007
on tap-pours a retaining thin off white head that laces and amber/copper color. Aroma is medium malt-very sweet, fruity. Taste is very malty-very sweet, fruity-apple/plum, some alcohol. Smooth. Occasional. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 23, 2006
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café during Hard Liver 2006: Vibrant amber, very bright, slight copper, thin white head, falls quickly, virtually no lacing or carbonation. Almost seems still. Sickly sweet nose, seems syrupy, phenols, slight pine.   Medicinal alcohol on the tongue, sweet, pale malt, more piney than hoppy. Unbalanced, with too much sweetness and alcohol. Fairly thin too. Meh... harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - MAR 13, 2006
Almost too light. Light and clear ruby appearance and almost no head. Somewhat spicy, with some sweet peach fruitiness, butterscotch and lingering candy presence. If nothing else a good session barleywine.
