Tasted 07/05/2007. Slickly packaged 330ml bottle from Clare Valley, Sth Australia. Cheers Jackie!
Pours a brigt yellow-gold with a billowing white head that tries to linger before fading. Lychees, honey, fruity flowers and lemony herbs on the nose . Thorough malt profile, cleanly fermented, throws out just a little hop fruitiness but it’s not as overt as most NZ craft lagers. Weighty, sweet and clean. Creamy mouthfeel. Then... wow... a long steely bitterness releases late herbal hop flavours remind me of rosemary, mint and aniseed. No wonder so many people are scared of Sauvin, this beer really showcases it’s intensity. What at first seems like a Dortmunder Export gives way to an firmly bitter new world Pilsner. I’ll be interested to see what else comes out of these guys.
From bottle in shaker. Pours pale yellow with 1-finger head and lively CO2. Fruity aroma is mixed with a bit of breadiness. Quite tasty and the Nelson Sauvin hops take this lager a cut above the rest. One of the best lagers in Oz imo. BrettC (13) - Flinders Chase, AUSTRALIA - OCT 31, 2016
Fruity nose but initial crisp malt on the tongue witha hoppy/bitter finish and aftertaste. Quite complex. Marc280 (52) - - APR 25, 2016
Pours pale straw with a nice floral aroma. The taste is something really different from what I’ve experienced with other beers. The savion hops bring a white wine taste along with floral and fruity notes, quite nice! The only real let down for me was it is over carbonated for my liking. Quite fizzy... Overall, I would happily have it again. mrjez (633) - Osaka, JAPAN - MAR 10, 2016

Pours a crystal clear pale straw gold with a good head of white foam. The aroma shows nice sauvin white grape, biscuity lager malt, a hint of general fruitiness. The taste is very clean, grainy, fruity hop. It’s light on the feel, but flavour alludes to a higher than average ABV. It’s crisp and refreshing, not too dry, nicely carbonated. Great lager. climberbob (458) - Virginia, USA - FEB 3, 2015
Bottle. Pale. Weird large bubble thin head that does not last. Hazy straw color. Nice fruity floral aroma. Floral taste. Notes of lemon and passionfruit. Slightly tart. Decent.

Pours yellow, golden color with a minimal head. True: Smells like a fruity white wine. also picking up some floral notes. Sweet, bready taste with a smooth finish. Carbonation is a bit low. Surely not a ordinary lager, but not quite my style. Does’t mean it’s not good. RafeAU (629) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 26, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2014 Smells like a Savignon Blanc wine! A lovely, flavoursome lager - probably the best Australian lager I’ve had. Slightly sweet, little bitterness, pale yellow, little head. Would benefit from a little more acid. A great showcase for the Nelson sauvin hops. Ngejo (979) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - AUG 23, 2014
Bottle. Clear, golden, minimal head, white foam, medium bitterness, medium body, lively, & bitter finish. Illywhacker (12) - - AUG 6, 2014
Bottle. Light clear gold with quick-thinning head. Complex aromas of lemon, limestone, raw peach, honeydew melon and the florist just before you sneeze - jeez you’d think you’re quaffing some NZ suavignon blanc here - but I guess that’s the idea. Clean no fuss pilsnerish malt carries it all and vibrant carbonation makes you think you swapped the sav blanc for champagne and a giggle. Someone has just mowed their lawn and you like it. Sweetish finish of lemon and hay. Bastard child of a lager Mum and errant wino Dad creates a confused but happy lovechild. Who you can drink. StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 20, 2014
From a bottle. Pours clear gold, tiny white head, lingering rich flavours and mild bitterness. Not bad at all.
