3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at Beerevents tasting at Veluwse Heidebrouwerij. Beer has been barrel aged on Wild Turkey barrels for six months. Clear brown appearance with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is whiskey, peat, wood, leather and dust. Taste is again whiskey, wood and peat, and also some vanilla. Beneath that hints of the original flavour like soft roasted malts and some coffee and chocolate. Wonderful beer. Carbonation is soft, there’s a nice bitter hint and dry finish. It only lacks a full body, but what can you expect from a 5,5% beer.
Drank with Patrick @Samson 11-05-17. Roast in the beginning, but watery and very thin. Not a very good beer. thanatosti (1699) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - APR 8, 2017
33 cl. bottle shared with de Molen Hopcrew @ de Molen Hopveld, Epe.
Very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and also some smoked malts but one of the brewers insisted they didn’t used those. Also some oak in the nose. Taste is medium bitter with some earthiness due to the malts and the oak. A pleasant surprise. dutchbeerpages (2439) - Wilnis, NETHERLANDS - AUG 27, 2016
Lively bugger. Not sure if i tasted the oak much but I am loving this. This style is greatly underappreciated and not many are made in this country. Liking this a lot. On tap at De Koffer in Groningen mariuspoenari (2692) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2016
33cl bottle. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasted malts, coffee beans, cherries, bitter cherries. Soft mouthfeel for a schwarzbier. Not bad. PeatyPete (1059) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 26, 2016
Dark brown color with light beige head. Aroma is earthy with some fruit tones. Taste of roasted malt, some fruit, some chocolate but also a bit watery.

Dark brown color. The nose reminds me of at a cheap nightclub on a weekday to drink copious amounts JD and coke. The mouth is a bit sour and astringent and thin bodied but still not bad, with lots of bourbon character. Chocolate malts shine. Bourbon lingers in the finish. Pretty decent for 5.5%. As it warmed up I enjoyed this less and less and it became more astringent. DwarfeD (3513) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - JAN 9, 2015
33cl bottle at home. Dark brown with almost no head. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Sweet and bitter tones. Dark chocolate, roasted malts, wood, bourbon and caramel. Quite a tasty brew! OlafVonk (18) - - DEC 20, 2014

33cl bottle #54/732. Dark body with ruby glances againts the light, no head, oily look. Aroma has strong bourbon aroma with notes of oak. Hints of vanilla, light malt. Taste has woody sweetness with medium astringent oak bitterness. Long bourbon after taste. Good wood, but little bit overpowering the beer. Body is medium, low carbonation, oily. fonefan (49427) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 6, 2014
