COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Bottle: Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is soft with the typical pumpkin spices, but alive with a real pumpkin smell. Faint cocoa. Taste is more focused on the pumpkin, some sweetness like pumpkin pie; I’m imagining crust and whipped cream. Light cocoa and roast. Creamy feel. Very nice.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a half finger tanish head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with pumpkin pie spices and dark fruit. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Follows aroma. Mostly milk chocolate with hints of coffee in the finish. Something odd in there also, possibly roasted pumpkin. Pretty good.

Bottle - Release #21 - Black pour with a huge foamy light tan head. Nose is cocoa, medium-dark roast, pumpkin meat, whipped cream, and a bit of pumpkin pie spice. Taste is a chocolate-vanilla bomb, with medium roast malt, a touch of pumpkin, and a bitter roasty finish. Not a ton of pumpkin in the taste. Thinnish with medium carbonation.

22oz bomber. Deep mahogany color. Mild carbonation. Well balanced with some pumpkin spice offset by a mild hop flavor. One of my favorite pumpkin beers.

Draft: Nearly black with a small, off-white head. Dark fruit, plum aroma. Taste is sweet, coffee malt, herbal pumpkin. Cream, chocolate. Rich...not overly pumpkin’d...but it’s in there..... Pretty good.

From a bottle. Pours very dark brown with a fizzy tan head and sediment at the bottom. Tastes like sweet chocolate, burnt toast, roasted pumpkin, cinnamon, and spice. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like roasted pumpkin, malt, spice, and a little bit of burnt toastedness.

Pours a dark brown color with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts, pumpkin, spice and a little bit of cocoa. Taste has more chocolate with nuts and a nice rounded spice on the finish. Smooth beer.
