RATINGS: 360   WEIGHTED AVG: 3.63/5   SEASONAL: Special   EST. CALORIES: 240   ABV: 8%
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

what i live 4 blocks from brewery?! ok ill drink their beer. often. pour: porterishky brown, complementary head. nose: amber/dark malts, pumpkin meat, slight hop bitters. mouth: malty sweet, pumpkinish, pie spices. have had a many pumpkin porters, and this is certainly different, can almost touch into stout flavorings, otherwise to the point of pumpkin ales for this season,

Pours hazy blackish with tan head. Dark malt, chocolate, mild pumpkin in the nose, some spice and vanilla in the flavor, more tartness. Odd in that at first it seems to sweet, but gets bone dry as it warms.

alobar (3940) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 23, 2017
Pours cola brown with a reddish hue. Aroma of pumpkin, roasted malt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pumpkin flavor with coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, and vanilla. Very well balanced.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8164) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 10, 2017
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a very dark brown color with faint res highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that left decent lacing. The aroma was coffee, cinnamon, wood and malt. The flavor was bitterish and malty with faint coffee, melon and hints of nutmeg and clove. Long coffee and melon finish. Medium bodied and smooth. Odd.

Koelschtrinker (21828) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - OCT 19, 2017
Danke an Erzengel. Dunkler, cremig malziger Beginn. Milde runde Noten von Kürbis, brotig, Roggen. Schokoladig, nur wenig kräutrig. Angenehm milde Süße, leicht nach Vanille. Süffig, vollmundig, nicht übertrieben krätrig - selten bei US Pumpkin Ales... 11/12/12/12/12/12

Sweet grain malts, molasses, spices, pumpkin spices, caramel, dark malts. Clear, very dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Light sweet. More pumpkin spices, dark, bitter, toasted malts, bitterness intensifies, soft carbonation, full bodied. Decent Spiced, well-balanced. Keg at taproom, Denver.

Draught, as Epic Imperial Pumpkin Porter @ Jojo's Restaurant and Taphouse, Frederick, MD. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of roast and malt, with notes of pumpkin and yeast. Bitter-veggie flavour of pumpkin and roast, with malty, estery and coffeelike notes and touches of hops. Bitterish and pumkinny aftertaste. Very decent.

Keg at the Denver taproom. Pours clear red-brown with a dense, creamy tan head. The nose has some burnt pumpkin pie, hints of roast, dried berries. Medium sweet flavour with mellow cocoa, some meaty pumpkin, lightly tangy dark berries, molasses. Medium to full bodiednwith fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish with low warmth, some burnt toast, more dried berries, toasted vanilla pods, earth. Nice beer.

22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown with an off white head. I like my pumpkin beers less spice and more pumpkin - this was not that. Some chocolate and vanilla, but the spices...
