COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, youre greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Really excited about this beer- but somewhat dissappointing. Nose was not great. Flavors of roasted malts, distant chocolate, nuttiness. Some pumpkin upfront. Ended w/ an unpleasant vegetal/ medicinal note. Might be decent after aging a year? Not too enjoyable.

650ml bottle pours a deep amber brown color with a finger and a half of light beige head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is pumpkin, chocolate, roasted grains and a range of pumpkin pie spices. Taste is a chocolate malty and pumpkin sweetness with a light roasted grain bitterness and the pumpkin pie spices. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a very tasty pumpkin ale, could be one of the best I have ever tried. Recommended.

Bottle. One of the best pumpkin brews I have ever tried. Really well done. Perfect balance of roasting and spices.

Tap at Hair of the Dog, Phromh Phong. Poured a murky light brown with a thin broken white head. The aroma is pumpkin, chocolate, yeast. The flavour is light grainy sour witn a dry earthy coffee malt mineral light fruit palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Great on the nose then it all fell apart.

September 15th, 2014 - Apparently this brew was so good that I couldnt even be bothered to take a photograph of it between greedy bouts of frenzied quaffing. But my notes tell part of the story, describing a heavily malted nose, layered with chocolate and chocolate mousse, and dotted with raspberries covered in chocolate. The aroma is smooth, milky and enticing. Sugary sweet, the flavor opens up, feigns modesty at first, and then kicks in some pumpkin flavors in the mid-taste. The aftertaste, though, is the real kernel of brilliance, with some black pepper and sweet potato, and ending with a dry kick, including canned pumpkin and a small sachet of herbs.

Shared bomber poured to snifters showing a black/brown hue, with light ruby highlighting at the stem, off white/ light tan head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was roasted, coffee & cocoa, spice & vanilla, some malt sweetness, pumpkin patch earthiness, a good deal of vegetable & greenery. Medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste added a roasted & earthy bitterness, a bit of booze, and finished dry. Decent seasonal brew.

Epic imperial pumpkin porter 8.3% abv ... Deep brown/black pour with a nice ruby hue, off white head and sticky striped lacing .... aroma of vanilla, pumpkin spices, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and some earthy pumpkin .... taste is of vanilla, spices, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and earthy pumpkin .... aroma is better than the taste which is kind of subtle .... mouthfeel is a little slick ... body is thin .... sessionable and decent.. abv is hidden well

One of the better pumpkin beers Ive had it still gross for me. Nice malt and dessert esque profile. A bit of spice up front with a nice little vanilla and allspice back bone. Not sweet at all but rather quite rich with a delicate hop and light alcohol presence. Malt isnt overly roasted not robust. Well balanced and enjoyable.

An herbal spiced aroma. Immediate flavor is sweet but creamy with a strange mixture of spices. This beer is all over the place. Not sure what to honk of this. Need to have again.

Bomber. Red brown with a decent tan head. Watermelon bubblicious, light smokiness, alcohol and cardamom aromas. Fruity candy flavor with a slight ashy aftertaste. Lighter body with a fizzy feel. It wasnt bad, just unexpected.
