Great mouthfeel. Good aroma. Looks good but no head. Taste good really enjoyable. Sweet not bitter but balanced one of their better brews ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On nitro at Aces and Ales. Nearly black with a thin, nearly non existent head. Oats and roasted malt aroma leads into a full slightly sweet flavor. Mild carbonation but good body. Finish has plenty of coffee and ends clean.

Lighter stout. Nice mouthfeel. Lingering dryness. Flavor is not in your face; not a full bodied stout for sure, but not too shabby. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Darkover (1540) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma and flavor. medium sweetness, medium body, thick feel, average carbonation, dry finish. Nothing really stands out about this, but its a perfect stout, very drinkable and good.

I am just getting over a cold so I am not getting much in my nose - some roasted malt, molasses, and coffee - dark brown/almost black pour - rich flavors of roasted malt with some raisin and brown sugar.

Release #23, 22oz bottle: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a pillowy froth of khaki head. Has a lightly sweet dark malty nose with some milk chocolate and mild roast. Starts with pretty good fullness and lightly toasted caramel malty sweetness with a touch of molasses and chocolate with some bittering hops showing up near the finish. Pretty true to style and certainly drinkable.

From notes - Dark, deep brown pour with one finger head. Smells of roasted malts, light smoke, rich, sweet malt and light caramel notes. Flavor is light smoke, roasty, light bitter chocolate, and dark coffee. Medium body, but pretty smooth.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Poured A dark brown liquid topped with thick lather of shaving cream like foam. Aroma is rich with roasted down dark malts that stimulates my nose and intrigues my interest as to how it tastes. The drink is thick and creamy like half and half or buttermilk and almost taste somewhat lactic or milky too while a notice of dark malts hide in the distant background. There is little sweetness as well which makes for a lacking sweet stout and a disappointment in the end.

Huh, interesting--a sweet/oatmeal stout. I didn’t sense that when I drank it. Rather that getting that, I sensed much more of the burnt, roasted, and tobacco (cigarette ashes) from it, leading to a somewhat bitter finish and a feeling that this wasn’t especially satisfying as a mocha/chocolate experience. Fine, but needs more balance. Bottle.

Cybercat (5962) - Georgia, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Rich, smoky aroma has a strong chocolate note and tones of coffee and molasses. It pours a deep, warm sable with a respectable tan head. Mouth-filling flavor has firm notes of roast malt, coffee, sweet chocolate and molasses with licorice and nutty hints. Smooth texture has good firmness and fizz, and leaves an earthy finish with traces of mocha. Look for this one!
