nothing offensive here. Pour: Dark choco brown, light choco tan head, which fizzes to a lace. Nose: Roasty, toasty, sweet choco, specialty dark grain. Taste: sweet dark malts, malt roast and chocolate, with a balanced hop finish. Easy, and enjoyable to drink.
Took a chance because we heard it was a good beer. We enjoy dark beers and would drink this one again.

On tap at the Denver brewery, near-black with a fine beige foam, cocoa and coffee on the nose, smooth and creamy-dry, burnt malt, faint citrus bitterness, lovely. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2017
22oz bottle. Poured a near black with an off white head. Chocolate, roast, some coffee and some earthiness. scooterbub (1067) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - JUN 29, 2016
22 ounce bottle. Pours a dark black with a one inch tan head that lasts. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, wood, coffee and some fruit. Has a similar aroma. Has a full, creamy body, with a touch of dryness in the end. Lots of layers and a surprisingly low abv. Would have again. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUN 5, 2016
Dark roast and fruit with toffee and a subtle lactic quality. Ok, but not as much of a standout as I’m used to from their stouts.

This was shared with Strykzone one Facebook Chat. Poured dark brown being almost black with a beige head. Good lacing. Nose of roasted malts wih some fruit and a lot of chocolate followed by a whiff of coffee. Medium body. Not as rich as it looks but the mouthfeel is very smooth. Flavor if big bakers chocolate, coffee, the dark ripe fruit, and some cirrus. Finishes with a bit of spice and bitterness. Very good. Very good indeed. Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Very dark with some cherry hues. A beige head is three fingers and fades slowly. Not a big aroma. Roast, coffee, and chocolate. Feel is creamy. A subtle but complex first sip. Nuts, lactic, toffee, citrus. A bit of spice and there is more roast as it warms. This is very nice. Thanks, Ron! Nice session stout, good palette and mouthfeel. Easy drinking definitely one to come back to. wlajwl (7063) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - NOV 18, 2015
Aroma is dark malts, cherries and coffee/chocolate/mocha. The flavor is coffee/mocha, chocolate, dark malts, mild lactic acid and and acidic/slightly sweet finish. Darwenus (1159) - Virginia, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Release #54, 6% ABV. Pours thin but very dark, the head dissipates very quickly. Aroma is baker’s chocolate and a little coffee, faint, piney hops. More baker’s chocolate on the flavor, a little bit of mint, a little bit of caramel. Slightly watery finish. Not bad.
