Bottle:   Muddy brown, dirty, thin sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Sour Red/Brown like nose, sweet vinegar, soft roasted malts, perhaps some dark chocolate.   Sour porter?   Whoa, tart, vinegar, roasty, with a touch of oyster to follow.   This one is somewhat of an odd duck.   Ashy and campfire like on the backside.   Oysters linger well after the finish.   I like the Sour Red/Brown aspect, but the campfire, ash, roasted malts, and oysters all make it somewhat.... well, weird.   Interesting, but not mashing for me. nealblind (1977) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Dark brown with a tan head that stays. Smells roasty, tangy like yogurt, woody, and oystery/meaty. Tastes significantly acidic, smokey, milky. Light body for a porter some tartness/creaminess. Finish has brown sugar in it. Simultaneously intense (in the acidity) and refined in every other flavor. A bit lopsided I guess, but here it works because of the amount and complexity of the non-strong flavors.
