Batch 7, super foamy. Light, honey, golden color. Dry and tart aroma. Dry, and a bit funky. Bit of spice and herbal notes. Subtle sweetness in finish. runaway (98) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 19, 2015
22oz bottle pours caramel orange with a thin, quickly dissipating off white head. Aroma is of sour cider, with sweet and biscuit notes. Taste is dry, pine resin, rye spice; finish is sour, active carbonation. Solid, well-balanced farmhouse. djd07 (15356) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 12, 2014
Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with large white head that lasts. The aroma is strong rubber, feet, cheese. Thin mouthfeel weird chloraseptic flavor and rubber. Possible infection nealblind (1967) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Batch 6. Gusher. Cloudy cider color pour big head. Aroma of bretta funk apple cider vinegar, yeast. It does taste like pickles, briney, floral, rye spice gorgeous. Alcohol bite is noticeable, but it’s offset with sweetness. Palate is dry vineous buttery smoothness from oatmeal yet strong carbonated. Way better than other bretta offerings because it balances bretta flavor with other great ones. Ferris (16301) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 17, 2013
Bottle - 2012 Vintage - Horse blanket, hay and other farmhouse smells. Cloudy yellow with a very active head. Dust and a bit sour, hay and herbs. A touch medicinal and very dry with a bit of a bitter finish. The age may have destroyed this beer.

Ridiculously hazy golden coloured body with a large soapy and very nice white head - absolutely great looking beer - perfect for the style. Aroma of pale malt, grass, herbs, yeast, a hint of hops and a tiny bit of sugars. Medium-bodied; Strong herbal and grassy flavours throughout with a dry finish and a bit of sugars at the back end. Aftertaste has just a little hops, a lot of yeast and grassy/herbal flavours with some flowers thrown in the mix and a nice citrus sweetness. Overall, a very nice beer - and one great for the style - i’m not sure why this has such a low rating. I sampled this 65 cL bottle, complete with a strand of string on the top, purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 10-February-2013 for US$8.29 sampled at home in New Paltz, New York on 28-March-2013. Unpleasant funky off flavors, some orange peel. This one is just not clicking for me. Theydon_Bois (20497) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2012
Tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, Seattle - 08/11/12.
Pale amber with a thin off white head.
Nose is sour, tarte, burnt tones, floor polish, medicinal notes.
Taste is harsh, TCP, medicinal tones, wood, raw alcohol, hospital wards, acrid smoke.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, tarte finish.
The waitress insisted I sampled this before trying it as other people had sent it back a few times in the last couple of nights. Glad she did this ! Not sure if it was a bad batch as other reviews weren’t anywhere near as bad but this was pretty MEH!
