22 oz bottle. Pours watery blackish brown with thin head. Aroma is slightly tart, hint of sweetness, earthy bitter. Taste is mild lingering sour, with medium brown body. Smooth, mildly sweet with oaky aged notes. On the finish, corn notes slightly apparent. ABV is hard to detect, seems relatively restrained... 6-7%? This is a sour, granted, but relatively normal beer from Epic, where the beers often get kinda weird. Different, nice. Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 21, 2012
Black, with a thin, loose head. Smells like vanilla, coconut and chocolate. Surprisingly tart, given the aroma. Cherry, woody, oaky flavors, plus some vanilla. Thanks to grownfool for sharing this! BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JAN 21, 2012
Dark black in color, clear with a thin head. Super wild aroma with sour fruit and chocolaty mix. This also has an interesting malt build and bready and earth like flavors. Very interesting beer needs to pair with a super interesting dish. Always check the web site for the beer and food pairing with these brews. Drake (13740) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 27, 2011
Bottle shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. Pours dark brown with a thin head that fades quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, nutty notes, bitter metallic notes and chocolate. The taste is tart cherries, faint roasted malts and peppery notes. Medium bodied. reebtogi (6277) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 23, 2011
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with about 2 fingers of beige head and some really nice lacing. Aroma is roasted malts and dark fruit. Taste is light roasted malty sweetness and tart fruitiness with some mild hop bitterness in the finish. An interesting ale which looks like a stout and tastes like a Belgian sour ale. Recommended tasting experience.

Dark brown color/ tan head. Fresh corn, chocolate, bready pale malt aromas. Medium body. Sour dark pumpernickel bread flavors with dry chocolate, honey biscuit, medium roast malt, corn on the cob--good. bhensonb (15234) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 6, 2011
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours quite dark brown with a fizzy and transient tan head. Smells pretty much chocolate, but with a sour note, and then my nose says cola. Maybe chocolate cola. Med body. It’s tart. It’s sour. It’s dark malt with quite a bit of chocolate, but it’s sour. Arguably earthy. Quite strange, but it does work. Unusual real ale. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 2, 2011
Bottle: Nearly black, appears still on the pour, no real lacing. Spicy nose, roasted malts, a little sour milk. Maybe its a little bit of an over simplification, but it really comes across on the tongue as a spicy Porter that has aged too long, became lactic and is fairly tart. Well, more tart than a broken beer, so that is likely the one and only difference. Well, the spiciness too. Yeah, slightly more tart and spicy over the hill Porter. In a way I have a hard time getting away from that, but on the other than it kinda works. Definitely different.   A little bit of spicy cocoa on the finish. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAR 31, 2011
22. Pours nearly black, definitely ebony, with a dense and creamy tan head that doesn’t really stick around. Big tart balsamic nose showing strawberries and bits of moss, along with some roasted malt. Salty soy sauce as well. Creamy medium flat body. Soy sauce, cola, balsamic, and roasted malt on the mid palate. Kinda all over the map. Mild tart finish. bvc (1242) - Washington, USA - MAR 28, 2011
Draft at naked city. Pours black with small flabby tan head. Toasty malt, plenty of lactobacillus, tart dark skin cherry, raisins, hint of cocoa. Lactic tartness up front, roasted malt undertones with hints of nut, cherry, raisin, prunes, finish dries up with just a hint cocoa.
