Bottle courtesy cwsample. Pours a murky reddish brown color with a tan head. Aroma is clay, dusty notes, earthy tones and alcohol. Flavor is dirty, earth tones, hot alcohol and some sweetness. Finishes hot. Bitter end. Sorry, but I don't like this.

651 ml. bottle.Release #16. 10.2% ABV. SLC# 1190. Pours a medium, well retained, ivory head, with slight lacing, over a clear, dark amber (SRM 15) body......nose is toffee/caramel, heavy dried fruit, with plum raisin, light fig, light spice, cereal, minimal hops, balance to the malts.....taste is sweet malts with notes of brown sugar, dried fruits, fig, raisin, plum, leading to slight hop notes, balance heavily to the malts........mouth feel, chewy body, sticky, heavy alcohol, light carbonation. This is a rich, sweet, complex beer, that is quite low in hop aroma and flavors with the malts utterly dominating. As such it is more English than American in style. Sample at the Winking Lizard Epic Tap Takeover on 03/14/2015. This beer pours a hazy mahogany-brown color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roast malt, caramel and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, earthy hops and dark fruit. The finish is malty up front with a resiny hops aftertaste. (22oz bottle) Pours a clear copper body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, old books, and toffee. Flavor of caramel, toffee, light cherry, raisins, plum, bread, and some pine with a somewhat thin mouthfeel.

Pours a lovely deep mahogany. The nose on this is incredible. Lots of dark dried fruit and molasses. Notes of vanilla and spice too. Too bad the flavors fall flat. Maybe some sweetness.. A boozy finish... But no complexity.
