Bottle shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy short-lived tan head. The aroma is big toasty malt, liquorice, dark chocolate, molasses, dry coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet, liquorice bitter with a dry malt, smooth, rich, oily, liquorice, alcoholic bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation. Pours black with a thin, dark tan head. There is a huge boozy aroma here, while after that is chocolate, licorice, and some mild coffee. The taste is lightly sweet and pretty dry. Plenty of whiskey is found which is now complemented equally by vanilla. Lesser flavors are chocolate, coffee, and licorice. The chocolate comes most at the end. Full bodied, with a thick texture, and soft in carbonation. You get a good alcohol burn upon sipping this one, and the effects are swiftly felt. Very good as long as you don't mind the overall booziness of this one. dzudohonor (311) - POLAND - NOV 29, 2017
Prosty aromat słodowy, fajne kakao, troszku kawy, wanilii i czekolady. Smak: cienkie, palone, wytrawne, goryczkowe, bez ciała. Słabe brewjeria (8) - San Antonio, - NOV 27, 2017 does not count
Criminally overrated beer! I had been waiting awhile to try this but was ultimately disappointed. The nose is pure booze. And for a barrel aged beer with this ABV it lacks carbonation, true lace or a definitive head. It has the consistency of a flat Coca Cola with no body. If you want a holiday beer with Metallica's "Load" as the background music this one's for you! czar (9503) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 26, 2017
bottle shared by fred d., thanks man! batch 73. pours unclear dark brown with a small beige cap offering some retention and lacing. tons of hazelnut spread, burnt chocolate, roasted almonds, some soy sauce, purple matter, peppery and piney alcohol. moderately low carbonation, medium body - oily and velvety; semi-sweet bourbony coffee-spicy finish. solid bourbon coffee stout.

Bottle thanks to wombat23. Pours virtually black with a creamy tan head. A sticky lacing clings to the glass. Aroma is coffee, licorice. Mostly coffee. Taste is sweet up front with a coffee-laced bitterness becoming stronger at the finish and leaving the brew with an overall bittersweet finish at the end. Body is heavy and smooth. A good way to finish the evening. GregMooreNH (166) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 12, 2017
Pours thick and black with minimal head. Aroma is heavy chocolate with bourbon and slight coffee touch. Strong cocoa taste at the front, then the coffee builds as it warms. Aftertaste is where the bourbon makes its appearance, but for the flavor - without an alcohol burn. Really tasty imperial stout that is very smooth, though not hugely complex. Black with medium black head. Aroma is vanilla, fudge, coffee, molasses, burnt sugar. Taste is creamy coffee bitterness, some molasses. Very dry finish. Creamy on the tongue. A bit one dimensional.
