3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from the Applachain Vintner. Pours a big thick black and minimal tan head. Heavy bourbon notes on the nose with some dark roast and chocolate. Taste is was quite bitter from the coffee yet rounded out nicely by the sweet chocolate and bourbon. The bourbon did not overpower. With the cocoa, coffee and bourbon there was a good amount to focus on and well executed. Very nice.
Pours thick and black with minimal head. Aroma is heavy chocolate with bourbon and slight coffee touch. Strong cocoa taste at the front, then the coffee builds as it warms. Aftertaste is where the bourbon makes its appearance, but for the flavor - without an alcohol burn. Really tasty imperial stout that is very smooth, though not hugely complex. Black with medium black head. Aroma is vanilla, fudge, coffee, molasses, burnt sugar. Taste is creamy coffee bitterness, some molasses. Very dry finish. Creamy on the tongue. A bit one dimensional. FinnIckler (884) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 3, 2017
Bottle. Pours deep black. Nose is chocolate, coffee, toffee. Palate is bitter chocolate, coffee. A bit too cold brew for me.

Choclatey smooth and creamy without being too sweet. High ABV hidden. Just a nice hint of bourbon to complement every thing else going on with the palate. Overall, pretty good. angoradad (12) - USA - OCT 16, 2017
Pours dark and viscous. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and whiskey. Chocolate is immediate on the front of the palate, which makes way for the hoppier finish. Booze is highly understated. Just the type of beer to open up after a long day of stressful work to relax and listen to classical radio and unwind. bergstaden (3180) - Røros, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2017

Bottle share at Mon Petit Cafe, Stuttgart. Strong coffee liquor, toffee, cacao in aroma. Full bodied, sweet barrel notes, coffee and ripe cherries. kaserov (979) - Oviedo, SPAIN - SEP 17, 2017
