Bottle from the Applachain Vintner. Pours a big thick black and minimal tan head. Heavy bourbon notes on the nose with some dark roast and chocolate. Taste is was quite bitter from the coffee yet rounded out nicely by the sweet chocolate and bourbon. The bourbon did not overpower. With the cocoa, coffee and bourbon there was a good amount to focus on and well executed. Very nice.

Oh my, where did this one come from? Imperial stouts are a personal favorite and I think this is the best so far. Purchased at my first buying venture at Total Wine in Plano. It pours into my snifter the usual very nice black body and a long lasting brown top. It has a nose of dark chocolate and cherries. The taste, oh yeah, is chocolate, some caramel sweetness, a hint of licorice, raisins and a wraparound strong bitterness. The label says Release #76 and 13.0%ALC. I guess I got a good one.

A ridiculous imperial stout in a bomber from a liquor store in Vegas. Pours a rich black with a medium-short head. Flavors are dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate Reese's, and malted milk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark black with a thin khaki head. The aroma is strong coffee, espresso, sweet mile chocolate. The flavor is the same as the aroma. A beautiful beer.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2017 Pours black oily, opaque, with creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted grain, malts, vanillin, coffee, cacao nibs, ash, sherry-like bourbon. Flavor just follows: roasted grAin, intense (dark) malts with notes of toasted toffe, espresso, bitter&milk chocolate, hint of cacao, vanillin, bourbon. Alcohol warmth is noticeable, finish is dry. Body thick, texture velvetly, carbonation is low. A masterpiece.

Pours a dark brown almost black color with a chocolate and boozy aroma. Taste is warming, coffee, espresso, with a good boozy burn in the chest after the swallow. A light medicine flavor in the end but overall nice. Made with Dark Horse coffee.

This is a great imperial stout. The bourbon is really balanced into the beer, but the coffee disappears from sip to sip.

Bottle. Low fluffy creamy lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Cramy roasted malt coffee caramel vanilla aroma. Mild coffee cocoa roasted malt caramel vanilla flavor. Fair amount of hops bitterness. Long coffee finish. Very well balanced and the alcohol is nicely hidden by the sweetness of the beer.

Appearance: opaque black with two fingers of fine dark beige head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: boozy, chocolate, roasty malt, coffee, dried fruit and red berries, hint of oak whiskey barrel. (9/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate-high bitter. (8/10) Palate: full viscid body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter and warming finish. (5/5) Boo-yah! Thats how I like my beers - big and bad(-assed). Starts off smelling like a boozy chocolate milkshake, but then the almost-milky chocolate fades slightly, to be overtaken by coffee and whiskey-soaked dried berries. The ABV is impressive, contributing smooth heat with no hint of solvent or sharpness. (17/20)
