Release #10. Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber. Pours inky black with just a small dark tan head that fades to a ring around the side of the glass. Pretty decent lacing considering the abv. Coffee is quite prominent in the aroma with hints of dark chocolate. Lots of roasted malt that seems slightly burnt. There is vanilla and just the slightest hint of whiskey buried way in the background. The coffee carries big time into the flavor mixed nicely with cocoa creating almost a mocha character. Lots and lots of heavily roasted malt that borders on being a bit acrid and charred. There is still just a little bourbon in the background that I wish was a little more prominent. Nice vanilla and caramel touches too. The alcohol is well hidden with just a slight warmth in the back of the throat with a creamy and just slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, a very tasty imperial stout but one that is not quite Earth-shattering. I dont know if I would go out of my way to pick this up but if you do come across it, it is worth drinking.

Pours a dark black with a thin khaki head. The aroma is strong coffee, espresso, sweet mile chocolate. The flavor is the same as the aroma. A beautiful beer.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2017 Pours black oily, opaque, with creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted grain, malts, vanillin, coffee, cacao nibs, ash, sherry-like bourbon. Flavor just follows: roasted grAin, intense (dark) malts with notes of toasted toffe, espresso, bitter&milk chocolate, hint of cacao, vanillin, bourbon. Alcohol warmth is noticeable, finish is dry. Body thick, texture velvetly, carbonation is low. A masterpiece.

Pours a dark brown almost black color with a chocolate and boozy aroma. Taste is warming, coffee, espresso, with a good boozy burn in the chest after the swallow. A light medicine flavor in the end but overall nice. Made with Dark Horse coffee.

This is a great imperial stout. The bourbon is really balanced into the beer, but the coffee disappears from sip to sip.

Bottle. Low fluffy creamy lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Cramy roasted malt coffee caramel vanilla aroma. Mild coffee cocoa roasted malt caramel vanilla flavor. Fair amount of hops bitterness. Long coffee finish. Very well balanced and the alcohol is nicely hidden by the sweetness of the beer.

Appearance: opaque black with two fingers of fine dark beige head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: boozy, chocolate, roasty malt, coffee, dried fruit and red berries, hint of oak whiskey barrel. (9/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate-high bitter. (8/10) Palate: full viscid body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter and warming finish. (5/5) Boo-yah! Thats how I like my beers - big and bad(-assed). Starts off smelling like a boozy chocolate milkshake, but then the almost-milky chocolate fades slightly, to be overtaken by coffee and whiskey-soaked dried berries. The ABV is impressive, contributing smooth heat with no hint of solvent or sharpness. (17/20)

22oz bomber. Pours motor oil black with a one finger mocha head that rapidly dissipates. Aroma is strong coffee with chocolate and whiskey notes. Taste is coffee and whiskey in the front, followed by a very delicious lingering chocolate note. The chocolate stays with you for quite some time. Mouthfeel is oily, but not overbearing with a full body. Overall, a killer BA coffee stout worthy of a chase.

Lots of dark, fresh ground coffee in the nose, followed by coffee, and a faint booziness. Low carbonation, smooth and velvety on the palate. Loads and loads of coffee, roast, some dark cocoa powder, and a little bourbon. Finishes with a ton of coffee. The abv is well hidden, and a tasty brew overall.
