Lots of chocolate and coffeeflavor and aroma up front. Followed by whiskey heat. A good beer that would be improved by some cellaring.

Bottle thanks to wombat23. Pours virtually black with a creamy tan head. A sticky lacing clings to the glass. Aroma is coffee, licorice. Mostly coffee. Taste is sweet up front with a coffee-laced bitterness becoming stronger at the finish and leaving the brew with an overall bittersweet finish at the end. Body is heavy and smooth. A good way to finish the evening.

Pours thick and black with minimal head. Aroma is heavy chocolate with bourbon and slight coffee touch. Strong cocoa taste at the front, then the coffee builds as it warms. Aftertaste is where the bourbon makes its appearance, but for the flavor - without an alcohol burn. Really tasty imperial stout that is very smooth, though not hugely complex.

Black with medium black head. Aroma is vanilla, fudge, coffee, molasses, burnt sugar. Taste is creamy coffee bitterness, some molasses. Very dry finish. Creamy on the tongue. A bit one dimensional.

Bottle. Pours deep black. Nose is chocolate, coffee, toffee. Palate is bitter chocolate, coffee. A bit too cold brew for me.

Choclatey smooth and creamy without being too sweet. High ABV hidden. Just a nice hint of bourbon to complement every thing else going on with the palate. Overall, pretty good.

Pours dark and viscous. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and whiskey. Chocolate is immediate on the front of the palate, which makes way for the hoppier finish. Booze is highly understated. Just the type of beer to open up after a long day of stressful work to relax and listen to classical radio and unwind.

bergstaden (3180) - Røros, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2017
Black with brown head - Roasted malt, wood and some dark fruity tones in tha aroma - Dark malt body with wood, some dark fruity notes with vanilla and some charred bourbon barrel flavour - The malt, charred wood, vanilla, and bourboun goes into the finish with hints of alcohol heat - This was real good

Bottle share at Mon Petit Cafe, Stuttgart. Strong coffee liquor, toffee, cacao in aroma. Full bodied, sweet barrel notes, coffee and ripe cherries.
