Bottle. Pours a thick and almost-black color with effectively no head. Strong coffee notes to the nose that aren’t harsh at all - just inviting. Taste has some amazing chocolate and coffee tastes to it, and just feels so smooth. AMAZING beer. pempem (4) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 5, 2013 does not count
"Are you kidding me? Are you f-n kidding me? This beer is the most epic beer of all beers. A pitch black color with a tan head. The aroma is chocolate, espresso, caramel, and vanilla. The flavor is perfectly balanced with some german chocolate cake, espresso, coffee, and caramel. The aftertaste is somewhat sweet but the bitterness from the coffee balances everything" ads135 (4607) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - AUG 26, 2014
Tried release #29 courtesy of Jay in 2014. Fantasticly coffee filled and chocolate. Deep, black, and rich. BoruttaBrews (7) - - OCT 5, 2014 does not count
I was blown away by this beer! A big sniff of this beer filled my nose with a large dose of oak followed by slight coffee and chocolate notes. It looked dark like an imperial stout should. It tasted slightly sweet with strong coffee notes. I had it in Denver which might be the reason the coffee stood out. It also tasted like chocolate, and dark malt. The finish was a slightly whiskey flavored. Overall, a great beer. jdshep (13) - Texas, USA - JAN 11, 2015

From start to finish this beer is purely enjoyable. The aroma swirls between chocolate and coffee as it enters the nose. On the taste, I get chocolate as it transforms into coffee, and finishes with the hints of bourbon and barrel. This is fully bodied and coats the back of the throat. An enjoyable after taste.

Espresso, chocolate and toffee on the nose. More chocolate, caramel and a hint of cedar on the palate. Well hidden alcohol. Tasty!!

Paradise juice! Motor oil black with a beige head. Aroma of strong wood and dark malts. Taste of vanilla, coffee, wood, chocolate. The 12,5% can’t be noted. Too good! jeffreylee (17) - HHI, South Carolina, USA - JAN 28, 2016
I grew up Southern Baptist. If they served this instead of grape juice, the pews would be filled. This is a big and bold stout with great bourbon and oak flavor. The pour is like a chocolate syrup, but with a touch of beige foam. The aroma is complex with a mix of bourbon, coffee, vanilla, and roasted hops. The initial taste is bold with the bourbon, oak, hops, coffee and caramel. As it sits in the mouth, the taste expands with a bit of roasted pecan added to the mix. The after taste wreaks heavenly of bourbon, hops and oak. Like the brewery, this is Epic. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - JUN 12, 2016
Pours pitch black with a small brown foam. Smells strongly of coffee and chocolate. Taste is dry chocolate and roasted coffee. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Epic Big Bad Baptist finishes with a lingering roasty dryness.
