COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Bad Baptista is inspired by traditional Mexican coffee, Café de Olla, which is served with cinnamon and piloncillo, an unrefined sugar. The Cinnamon adds another layer of complexity and accentuates the earthy character of Mexican Coffee, but more importantly, it captures the essence of a place and its culture. As beverage geeks we wanted to pay homage to that rich tradition and offer our unique take.

Big Bad Baptista is a combination of Vanilla, Cinnamon, Mexican coffee roasted by Blue Copper, and Solstice Chocolate cacao nibs. It’s luxurious to say the least, with a pleasant warming sensation generated by the cinnamon and alcohol. Enjoying the interplay of chocolate, malt, oak, and spice is the perfect way to spend a cool evening, with friends around a fire.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2017 Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a black color with a large creamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was strong cocoa, coffee and cinnamon-sugar. The flavor was amazingly strong cocoa powder, coffee, molasses and cinnamon-sugar. Incredibly long finish of cocoa and cinnamon that coats the tongue and will not leave. Thick and full body. Marvelous!!

Bottle shared. Pours close to black with a small brown head. Big sweet nose, cinnamon, vanilla, coconut, marzipan, coffee, cocoa, fudge, milk chocolate. It’s out there but at the same time nicely balanced. Over medium sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, low carbonation.

Bottle shared side by side with the Big Bad Baptist. Pitch black pour with a short-lasting dark tan head. Huge cinnamon, marzipan and coconut notes, together with cocoa nibs, smooth coffee, vanilla. Absolutely amazing, so different to the BBBaptist yet soooo good.

PhillyCraft (7385) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2017
Bottle, pours black with nice medium coffee head. The initial nose is fudge and chocolate milk. Cacao nibs, heavy cinnamon, peppers, spices, nutmeg/pumpkin, vanilla, overly roasted coffee, Mole, and more chocolate. Medium to fuller body with ultra warming effects. Not my thing but enjoyable, heavy cinnamon and cocoa in this stout.

Pours very dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma of spices, malt, and wood. Taste of pepper, cinnamon, and other traditional BA imperial stout flavors. This is a very good stout. Thumbs up.

Dégustaion Manseau printemps 2017. Release 1 2016. Une robe noire très foncée. Un nez incroyable de café de olla avec du whiskey en fond de trame. Une bouche piquante, forte de fudge, de café cheap mexicain et de whiskey. Longue à souhait cette bière me semble déconnectée.

The aroma is chocolate, coffee and cinnamon. Pours dark brown with big creamy tan head, mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. The taste is sweet with a little bitter from the chocolate, coffee and cinnamon. The body is medium/full, the texture creamy and the finish long. Very Good!!!
