COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Bad Baptista is inspired by traditional Mexican coffee, Caf de Olla, which is served with cinnamon and piloncillo, an unrefined sugar. The Cinnamon adds another layer of complexity and accentuates the earthy character of Mexican Coffee, but more importantly, it captures the essence of a place and its culture. As beverage geeks we wanted to pay homage to that rich tradition and offer our unique take.

Big Bad Baptista is a combination of Vanilla, Cinnamon, Mexican coffee roasted by Blue Copper, and Solstice Chocolate cacao nibs. Its luxurious to say the least, with a pleasant warming sensation generated by the cinnamon and alcohol. Enjoying the interplay of chocolate, malt, oak, and spice is the perfect way to spend a cool evening, with friends around a fire.

ABV; Paper fold on top Thanks, Nick! Was lucky enough to get a bunch of awesome brews from Nick. Was probably most looking forward to this one and Melvins Asterisk IIPA. Right up my alley as the bottle read imperial stout with Mexican coffee, cacao nibs, vanilla & cinnamon, 100% aged in whiskey barrels. Would be shocked if this wasnt near as good as the Mexican Speedway Stout (4.72), but still think it would be at least 4.50. Poured a pitch black color with two fingers of frothy tan lacing. Outstanding uneven foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled a pleasant mix of flavors, getting cocoa, milk chocolate, coconut flakes, vanilla, cinnamon stick, horchata, buttery caramel and toffee. Reminding me of The Bruery/3 Floyds Rue DFloyd that I loved at the Society party in January. Maybe a touch of buttery bourbon, but not much barrel notes. (Smell - 4.50) Tasted pretty close to the nose. Much more spice here. Got smooth milk chocolate, cocoa, cinnamon, horchata, vanilla, some unknown Mexican spices, rather smooth coffee malts, smooth oaky bourbon, hints of woody dry whiskey, coconut flakes and caramel. (Taste - 4.50) Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth, warming finish. (Feel - 4.75) Wow, this was just awesome. Feel like I underrated it a tad. Would love to have this next to Mexican Speedway Stout and compare. (Overall - 4.50) 4.51 100 A+

Bomber, 2016 vintage. Cinnamon aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and bourbon. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with rich chocolate and roasted malt flavors with wonderful vanilla undertones to go along with the full body and thick creamy mouthfeel. Finishes very smooth with bourbon and cinnamon flavors before the slight bitterness of coffee hits and lingers on the palate. Excellent balance and absolutely wonderful!

22oz bomber shared by Ryan. Awesome, massive aroma. Really deep flavors, but smooth. World Class. Spices, chocolate, all blend together perfectly.

Cinnamon and sugar burnt french toast with a kahlua kick in aroma. Nice deep reddish black color with tan head. Taste is heavy cinnamon, roasted malts, latte coffee mocha swirl, slight honey/sugar flavor. Palate is not too thick, I like that. Tap

Pours near black from the bottle. Pillowy khaki colored head, settles nice to a firm cap with nice lacing and mild legs. Aroma of malted milk balls, milk chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and heavy layer of coffee. Very inviting for me, as I Iove this medley of ingredients. The mouthfeel is pretty spot on for the style. Creamy, velvety and a medium carbonation. Flavors follow the nose, loads of creamy chocolate and vanilla notes. Mildly bitter coffee with a nice dark roast balance the sweetness nicely. Cinnamon is ever present, but never dominating...proving a nice spicy edge to this one. Finishes a bit sticky and sweet, which masks the alcohol extremely well. Great beer!
