COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

22 oz bottle, as pictured. Poured a pink-red, sorta hazy, not too much head on it. Smells a little fruity, a little wine-ish. Taste is similar....kinda dry, definitely a dry grape and red-fruit (cherry, raspberry indistinguishable) flavor to it. Easy to drink but you definitely feel it.

brokensail (16444) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 11, 2013
On tap @ Epic (Denver). Pours a nice red/ruby pour with a white head. Sweet cherry juice on the nose. Some grass, cherry skin, and a bit of oak. A little bit boozy. Mild cough medicine. Flavor is grape and cherry juice. Grass, oak, and a touch of booze. Fairly sweet and sugary.

MrHangover (4502) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - OCT 11, 2013
Tap @ the brewery tap room. Pours a light pinkish brew with a small, off white head on top. Aroma of cherries and some vineous characters with a touch of oak. Flavour has cherries, some dry oak and there is definitely some red wine in there. Good brew, could be more complex though.

kermis (13241) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 11, 2013
Draft sample at Epic Brewing taproom, Denver. Pours clear red amber with a pinkish hued head. Aroma of yeast, cherry, tart red fruits, wood and vinous aspects. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

theothermatt (286) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - OCT 2, 2013
On tap at Epic-Denver. Pours red and slightly cloudy. Sweet aroma. Cherry. Sour and funk. Very strong on the front end, sweet and cherry that overwhelms any sort of malt. Slightly dry finish. Hides the alcohol well, but still ends with an acidic vinegar aftertaste. Bad Tannins... go away.

Sampled at a recent tasting. Not quite sure what batch this was but it was pretty good none the less. Not a ton of cherries in the aroma/flavor but very solid regardless.

rumproasts (5356) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 14, 2013
tap. Amber red with minimal head. Light cherry tartness. Mild flavor, but what’s there is very nice. No booze at all in the palate, but there is a bit of warmth.

Bottle (release #19)
Aroma: Vanilla, fruit juice, tart
Appearance: Reddish/brown with no head
Taste: Vanilla, woody notes, semi-sweet fruit
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, lively mouthfeel
Overall: Cherries are nicely integrated and fairly subtle, and the oaky vanilla flavors serve as a very nice finish.

Thanks Dakine. Batch #7. Reddish pour with a red-tinged head. Aroma was cherries and oak. The head went away so quick. Taste was very bubbly, cherries, dry oaky aftertaste. -ehh.

DocJitsu (1974) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2013
Pours a clear golden with nearly no head. Sweet apple cider and raisins on the nose. Mildly spicy flavors approximate the aromas. Wet, smooth, heavier mouthfeel.
