Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

Draft - Boozy sweet cherries. Clear copper with a thin head. Boozy cherry fruit with the typical Belgian yeast profile. Again not my thing and I don’t get the barrel.

On the patio with Audrie, Zach andRandom, pours a cherry red color with no head. Nose is fruity and full of cherries. Taste is fruit and sweet with a big yeasty cherry flavor. Alcohol so well hidden. Finishes on the same sweet tart cherry notes. Finishes on the same sweet fruity notes . quaff Score 7 / 10

zgaier (1962) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 14, 2014
Pours a red orange with a small head and sweet, fruity cherry aroma. Taste is sweet as well, apparent cherry notes throughout with light spice, wood and fruits leading to a sweet berry finish. ABV well hidden and cherries aren’t overwhelming, nice brew

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a reddish copper with a ring of head. Nose is barrel fruit not much cherries and some bread malt. Always wanting more fruit on the brainless stuff. Taste is a little tart and some sweetness.

madvike (3292) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 25, 2014
Bottle (Batch 22) - Pours pinkish amber with a thin off-white head. Nose is grainy, a little yeasty and not much fruit. A hint of SweetTart. Taste is grainy, with dusty yeast and really no cherries. Watery and thinnish. A huge disappointment as I really like cherry beers.
