COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

badgerben (5177) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Dark orangeish color with a medium head. Aroma of tart cherries. Flavor starts as a mix of sweet and tart cherry before speeding into dry wheat and vinous oak. Finishes quite dry. I would never have guessed this is 10%.

BeerViking (4781) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2017
On tap at the Denver brewery, bright amber-red with no head, light aromas of cherry, spicy Belgian yeast and honey, dry-sweet and faintly tart, spicy with cherry and fruity esters. Very nice.

Tap at Underground, Epic Tap Takeover. Bright red and pretty much headless. Nose has cherry, fruit, esters. Taste - yeast, esters, cherry fruit, red wine notes, a light tartness from the fruit and some alcohol in the finish. Nice, I liked this a lot.

Brandon1989 (660) - Lewisville, Texas, USA - MAR 13, 2017
Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a minimal head that dissipated within seconds. The aroma is cherries, wine, and oak. The flavor is more of the same.

JStax (6482) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - FEB 19, 2017
22 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a clear red with a white head of foam that dissipates quickly. The aroma has dry woody notes and sweet artificial cherry notes. I get some decent robitussin notes. Sweet and boozy. Big body and medium carbonation.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 13, 2017
Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a pinkish red color with a large foamy pink head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweetish and malty with artificial cherries. The flavor was tart and sour with cherry sno-cone, booze and artificial sugar. Long boozy finish. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

Svartvit (574) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2016
Bottle shared during the November THT tasting at deanso’s place. Pours a slightly hazy red with a small white head. Aroma is big on the caramel and sweet malts, obviously cherries as well. Some oak and wine notes in the flavor with more fruit and some slightly tart cherries. Wish is was more cherry forward with a heavier barrel influence as well. Medium body, low carbonation.

deanso (10130) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - NOV 25, 2016
65cl bottle shared at THT November. Thin white head. Hazy red pour. Cherries.

Benzai (15586) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2016
Sampled from bottle @ Benzai’s final THT although MrHangover thinks it’s something else. Clear amber color, no head. Smell and taste malts, slightly sourish, a hint of cherries indeed. Decent body and carbonation. Ok beer.

bulldogops (2490) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 15, 2016
Rating #2107 - Bottle from CBI. Pours a light hazy pink colour, fairly thick white foam. Aroma and taste is sweet, cherry pie. Great belgian character as well, presence of yeast, wheat, coriander, mild clove, mild Syrah kinda vibe, mild tannic. ABV is surreally disproportionate to your perception, drinks as though it may be sessionable, I can assure you after punishing the bomber it is not. A crown jewel of fruit beers.

nickd717 (4682) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Bottle at the tapless taproom in SLC. Brilliant red color but minimal head. Aroma is a little weak, cherry with vinous notes. Medium sweet cherry and red wine flavor, slight spicy yeast. Medium bodied, not great carbonation. Meh.
