On tap at brew on Quay served too cold. Pours orange amber with decent head. Pine nut aroma. Floral hops mmm. Bitter taste followed by sweetness and dryness making you want more. Nice lisagirl (264) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 26, 2013
one trick pony, it says. indeed, it is very similar to a lot of their other efforts, with piney hops and a little bit of citrus to kick. but it’s a good trick. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 24, 2013
It’s a good looking beer this one. Rosy amber colour with a good finger of white head... and who doesn’t like a good finger?
Excellent lace down the side of the glass as the head subsided. A good snort of aroma reveals carbolic soap, green grassy hops, chlorophyll, herbaceous loveliness. It looks, good. It smells good. Yes, it tastes good. Classic IPA autumn fruit maltiness, lime and lemon marmalade citrus. It isn’t as frighteningly obtuse as many Epic beers, but believe me, if you had a pint of this put in front of you, you’d happily drink it. And so would I. And another. Hard to go wrong with Epic. Don’t be put off by the mention of onions on the label; it all works well, delivering a clean and zingy easy-drinking IPA. An interesting hop that I’d never heard of and wouldn’t hesitate to have again. sm89walt (2080) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 14, 2013
Keg - Brothers Bar, Auckland. A rich golden amber coloured been that poured with a small and lasting lacy off-white head. Wow, what an aroma. So fresh, bright and full of clean zippy citric and tropical fruit hops. Super clean in the mouth with a pleasant balance of pale malt body and resinous, grapefruity hops. Medium-ish body, soft to medium carbonation, firm mouthfeel and a lingering finish with modest bite. Damn fine stuff.

More an easy drinker IPA than the hop monsters that Luke is famous for, which I think is going to disappoint many of his followers. Drinks fine and may help introduce people on the road to being a hophead but alas for me... beer-yum (1866) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 13, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 Yet another great beer from Epic (aptly named). This single hop IPA is just asking to be compared to their blended hop Zythos. While I’m sure I’ll eventually prefer one over the other I’m happy to keep an open mind and draining glasses of both!
