Copper Cone Pale Ale is a special offering, aroma rich, pale ale that may vary the hops, malts and even sometime the yeast used. Typically this beer is an over the top Pale Ale with a deep copper color and loads of dry hopping going into each batch. The fresh hop aroma of this beer makes it a stand out. Stronger in alcohol and body than CAPTN CROMPTONS PALE ALE and appeals to beer aficionados.

Bottle, 22oz. Release #27, 6.6% ABV. Lots of citrusy aromas escapes the bottle as I pop the cap. The head is of moderate size, light beige in color and with some lacings. Unclear, dark golden to copper colored beer. Citrusy, mostly orangey aroma with some room left for the malts. A light caramel flavor is more or less overpowered by orangey hops and bitterness. Medium to full body with some carbonation. A bit sweet on the palate maybe, with a pleasant bitterness kicking in towards the end. A tad on the sweet side I think, but its a nice beer anyway. 130430

Listed as the Lemon Drop Hop version. Sort of an orange-amber our with a dense off-white head. Strong lemon and grapefruit peel hop character. Floral, some biscuit, and a decent amount of caramel. Flavor starts off with a nice bright citrus character, but the sweetness of the malt comes to dominate. Floral, light bitterness, and some subtle pine.

Release #27! Cloudy amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate, a little soft and airy with mild fine carbonation that provides a bite. Reasonable balance - mild toffee malt. A little orange marmalade but the dominant hop flavour is nettley pine. Finishes smooth with a little more citrus and subtle red berry fruits. Nice piney hop aftertaste. Good stuff!

On tap at the Yokohama Brewers Cup. It poured a slightly cloudy orange color with a tan head and had good lacing. A nice crisp pale ale with a piney bitterness but very smooth. Good stuff.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2014 Lemony citrus aroma, with a little bit of earthy yeast. Orange, lemon candy-like hop flavor. Spicy, floral. Light caramel and sweet malt. Release #40; dry-hopped with EXP1210. Whoever nicknamed that varietal "lemon drop" was not far off.

22oz Bottle. The pour was a hazy medium to dark copper orange with an average (1-2 finger) off white creamy head that was mostly diminishing, down to a large puddle of residue and a medium collar which produced awesome sheets of sticky streaky lacing. The aroma was of a sweet toasted grain malt, pine and floral hops and a doughy yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit peel) and a slight fruity ester (pineapple). The taste was bitter sweet and rather malty with a light caramel sweetness and a mild fruitiness early on, and then became a tad bitterer and very hoppy with a pronounced citrus peel bitter ending. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, with a sweetly bitter hoppy taste fading steadily off the taste buds. Mouthfeel was right between light and medium in body with a dry and slightly oily texture and a medium carbonation. Overall I found that I really enjoyed drinking this brew, the fruity caramel sweetness was offset nicely by the harsh citrus peel bitterness and the smooth hoppy profile. This all together created a smooth easy to drink Pale Ale. I think, I just may have another www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews
