Generally sweet with tropical yeast notes into a very smooth creamy malty mouthfeel

Pours clear dark chestnut, with a thin beige head, moderate retention. Aromas of caramel, coffee, nuts, some earthy hops. Medium light body, smooth, moderate carbonation. Medium sweet, gentle tartness, light bitter finish, slight mineral taste.

Aroma is tart, caramel and citrus. Taste is light sweet malts, honey, caramel and clove. Nice balance between the grains and hops. Finishes smoothly. Appearance is a clear brown with a thin pearl head that retains somewhat poorly.

Sweet note but with enough booze to give it a nice combination. I could fast with a case of this by my side. I would like a little more depth but an easy drinking beer.

On tap at whole foods in wexford. Light cola color, no head and little lacing. But great taste without an oberburdon of sweetness. Much like Bifrost.

Dark copper color with a tallish light tan head. Aromas of light grain, licorice and floral hops. Sweet start, with pale malt, light fruit and floral undertone. It’s growing on me, but it’s taking some time. A good malt liquor, with a little bit more malt flavor. The floral hops continue to throw me off. A decent beer, but not a great DB. 1/14

Tap at Clubhouse BFD. Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, dark fruit. Not much else. Flavor is caramel, toffee, dark fruit, not much else there either. It’s pretty tasty, but weak overall.

Rarely does a craft brewed doppelbock rank up with the best from Germany. Pots a nice looking golden brown with a thin beige head with a light stream of carbonation. Aroma is a bit malty with caramel and soft toffee, pinch of spice and nutty notes throughout. Light fruit note on the mid palate and almost no bitterness. Light malty sweetness on the finish with a bit of warmth.

650ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a finger of off-white head that leaves very little lacing behind. Aroma is caramel with some grass and dark fruits. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with a grassy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a respectable brew that suits the style well. Recommended for those dark German beer lovers out there.
