COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Epic Brewing Company’s latest barrel-aged beer brings something new—wild yeast. This brew is a collaboration ale with Crooked Stave Artisan Brewing of Fort Collins, Colorado. Chad Yakobson, Brewmaster/Owner of Crooked Stave, is well known for his skill and knowledge in the brewing of sour and Brettanomyces driven beers. The beer was brewed at Epic by the two brewers. Kevin Crompton, Epic’s Brewmaster, and Chad spent several weeks working on the recipe and selecting the proper Brett strains and barrels for the beer to morph from a golden Saison into a Saison-Brett Golden Ale.

gramity (1684) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 1, 2015
Bottle pours out crisp and clean light golden topped with a small soap ring head. Aroma of sweetness, green apple, brett, and toast. Taste is more of the green apples and brett.

vyvvy (6732) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 15, 2014
Pours golden with a mild haziness and a white head. The aroma has bright vinegar, citrus sourness, earthy bugs, oak and some passion fruit. It has a medium / light body with some mild sharp carbonation. The flavor starts more balanced with pale malt, grain aspects, earthy bugs, light vinegar, bright fruit and tartness. The finish has a refreshing sourness, minor alcohol and a touch of lacto sourness. Really nicely done.

Somewhat hazy golden pour. Getting some buttered popcorn in here. Slight tartness. Okay.

GothGargoyle (2588) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 13, 2014
Clear golden with a pale head. Aroma is brett, saison spice, pear, white wine. Medium-light bodied, fruity on the palate. Taste is dry but fruity white wine, hints of stone fruit and brett.

"Full disclosure - I did not pay for this bottle, and wouldn’t have. I’ll drop $14 or more on a 750 in a heartbeat, but not for a wheat IPA bordering on a double. This did not exceed expectations, either. Nice aroma of pine and spicy hops...same in the finish. But, even though this is fresh, and dry hopped, it did not taste fresh. Too malt heavy. Pretty pleasant beer, but an absolute rip off at the price."

DialSquare (5130) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 6, 2014
Bomber from the Barrel and the Bottle in North Market. Yellow gold pour with thin white and soapy stick. Nice aroma of lemon, tart, melon, green apple, oak. Tastes are bretty grapefruit, floral, barnyard, lemon candy sugar. Covers the alcohol well. Light bitter funk finish. Very nice.

egajdzis (6730) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 29, 2014
Hazy dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of brett, wild yeast, sweeter light fruits, vanilla, citrus, and green grapes. Taste of citrus, wood, wild yeast, tropical fruits, and a sour finish.

Damico (3150) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2014
Pours quite hazy amber with a sandy-colored ring on top. The aroma is sweet and tart yeast like candy, just like I like! The flavor brings sweet tart candy literally lingering on the palate endlessly, nicely tempting tongues ’til the end.

Golden, yellow; white foam with low head retention. Aroma: apples, citric, sour, spices. Taste: salty, acid, spices, cidery, apples, orange, tart and dry finish. Very good beer!

Hazy deep blond color with medium sized head. Deep aroma, vinous, with strong Brett, and delicate fruitiness; lightly footy, cobwebs, wet mossy wood. Soft mouthfeel, highly carbonated, off-dry; mild malt profile, but with a pleasant vinous character, fruity, hint of stone fruits, some Brett, woody finish; it has a light acidity level.
Nice beer, but the aroma is more interesting than the flavor.
