Very nice full flavoured imperial stout. Big coffee aroma dominates the stout. Couldnt get a whole lot of the fig but there was a real pleasant sweetness that may be related? Regardless this was an awesome beer full of flavour.

From bottle in Belgian ale glass. Pours black with tan head and aroma of coffee and roasted malt that continue through to the palate. Didnt pick up as much fig as I was expecting although Id aged this for 6 months.

LCBO limited edition. More fig than coffee. Not a year, but somewhat washed out flavour. OK stout.

750ml bottle from LCBO. 8% alc./vol. Pours and opaque dark brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee.Taste matches the aroma with notes of figs. Not as dry and bitter as the usual imperial stouts. The oats add a smooth and creamy texture to this stout. Recomended.

[8048-20160128] 750mL bottle. Coffee grains and burnt chocolate crusts aroma. Black cola body with a medium-lasting foamy tan head. Green pepper and roasted coffee wood flavour. Full body. Interesting. (7/3/7/4/16) 3.7

2016-01-28. Very dark brown black body modest tan head. 3+ Aroma is quite dry, moderate coffee roast. Muted green pepper touches. Light fig, maybe? Flavour is dry, earthy roast, notes of cocoa and dark fruit. Average bodied palate, good carbonation. 3+ Decent but not to my tastes. 6/3/6-7/3/14 Bottle shared by HogTownHarry.

750 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours black with medium tan head. Right out of the fridge it was all coffee. Definitely needed to let this one warm up a bit. After about 20 minutes on the counter it became a smooth, velvety oatmeal stout with the coffee and a nice sweetness. Definitely recommend. Make sure to let it warm a bit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kauge (1649) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 24, 2016
Bottle from LCBO (Niagara Falls). 2015. Pours dark brown with small light tan head, scattered, uneven, leaving little lace. Theres loads of coffee in the aroma, but very little of anything else, even as its warmed quite a bit. Tastes pretty damn sweet with molasses and dark roast coffee. Not exactly getting the figs here. Theres a hint of aniseed in the finish, curiously. The mouthfeel is a bit grainy, the body mediumish (as in not heavy or viscous), carbonation pleasantly thin. Not as fancy as the description lead me to believe. It is pretty good though, I love how its not a +10% booze bomb coated in massive sweetness, the 8% is

The beer pours a blackish brown colour with a thick foamy chocolate brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, figs, and smoked wood. The mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, smoked wood, dark chocolate, and coffee. The fruits arent very noticeable in the flavour. A very good beer.

If we are talking the 2014 version this was amazing. Went through 4 bottles of it over the last few weeks. Strong coffee and sweet fruit flavors. Tastes exactly how a good coffee infused beer should.

[Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o HTH] 2015 vintage. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size lasting frothy light-brown head. Aroma of coffee first followed by hints of dark fruit and cocoa -- but it almost smells like cold coffee. Flavour of lots of coffee followed by dark malt, dark fruit and cocoa. Medium bodied. Pretty good, not great.
