Bomber. Poured fiery medium orange with a sticky off-white head. The aroma picked up fresh, wet orange and perfumey hops over soft honey and bready malts.. catty Amarillo increased toward the back of the nose as it warmed up. The flavor found similar stuff.. fresh orange, floral, and grapefruit bitterness over honey and fruity malt.. finished with a fair dose of sweetness topped by the same, fresh hops. Light-medium bodied and well-balanced on the palate.. very fresh, very drinkable, and very tasty. Gription79 (2891) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Poured from a 22ounce bomber. A nice malty fest beer with a big floral/tea/herbal hop character. I found this to be very enjoyable. Easy drinking. Sledutah (7527) - Utah, USA - OCT 1, 2012
22oz bottle from the brewery douglas88 (9192) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Appearance: Cloudy copper with a medium sized off white head and spotty lacing
Aroma: Caramel, earthy malts, herbal and floral
Taste: Earthy malts, caramel, tea, herbal with a bitter finish
I didn’t care for this version, the tea and bitter herbal was too much.
Bomber. This version is much different that the last Harvest Ale, but unfortunately will be super hard to distinguish if you have the old bottle sitting around. Basically, this is 6.0% and released in 2012. Pours a cloudy copper color with a medium white head. A rich nose of earthy malts, some caramel and Amarillo hops. The flavor is very interesting; a big Amarillo flavor, some oranges and citra, big sweet dry malts. Pretty good. Could be much better without the intense dry earthiness. Finishes pretty bitter and dry. Really tea like at times.
