Hop Syndrome pours a murky golden with a frothy white head. Very nice evergreen nose with hints of grass and melons. The flavor and body to me fall a little flat. Overall I would have enjoyed a cleaner, crisper beer that showcased the hops better. It was decent. zsb19 (480) - Cincinnati, Kentucky, USA - AUG 27, 2013
Pours straw yellow with thick fluffy white head. Aroma is crisp and clean with sweet malt and yeast and spice hops. Taste is straw-like malt upfront with some light floral grassy hops on the follow through. Aftertaste is floral and herbal hops that linger nicely. Palate is thin and slightly sticky. Overall a pretty solid lager. FlacoAlto (4220) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 21, 2013
Batch 12; Sampled July 2013
A vigorous pour into my Sierra Nevada IPA glass produces an almost three finger thick, pale, off-white colored head, that leaves a spotty, layered lacing on the sides of my glass as it slowly subsides. The beer is a bright gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, pale gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma has a light Meyer lemon like note to it at first, but then gets more fruit focused with notes of lychee, tangelo zest, perhaps a touch of guava, and just a nicely floral fruitiness. Backing aromatic of straw like grain, and some chewy pale malt cracker like character is also found here in the aroma.RobertDale (6851) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - AUG 15, 2013
The beer has a nice spritzy carbonation and quite a light, quaffable body. Up front there is a perceived sweetness due to all the hoppy fruit notes, but the finish is quite dry with a lingering light bitterness and hay like grain character. Up front notes of lychee, guava, and tangelo zest are muted compared to the aroma, but still quite prominent. A firm bitterness throughout the profile of each sip adds a nice bite, but also accentuates a pine like note and perhaps a touch of sharp herbal character. Simple pale malt cracker notes, and perhaps a touch of rustic white bread flavors add a nice, though supporting, counterpoint to the hop notes. As the beer warms up a bit it gets a touch more malty, though it remains hop dominated if not a touch more herbal in character as well.
Simplistic, clean, refreshing, and hoppy, a nice easy drinking beer that is just eminently quaffable. One of the simpler beers I have had from Epic, and definitely one of the better ones as well.
22 ounce bottle. Pours a clear light gold with a decent white head. Aroma of citrus, malt, and grass. Taste is similar. Decent. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 27, 2013
22 picked up at the COOP yesterday for I think $4ish... Sorta expensive for what it is, but it is well made... Pours a slight hazy straw golden with a decent white head and little lacing.
Nose shows bigger than expected hoppiness, but it works well with the light background maltiness... hops are smell like cut grass and light citrus zest.
Flavor mirrors the aromas nearly perfectly with a bit of an upfront bitter bit that adds to the drinkability in my opinion.
Body is light and carbonation is spot-on where it should be.
If this was in a reasonably priced 6-pack, I would buy it all the time in this Boise heat. It is a near perfect summer quaffer for somebody that like lagers and want more of a hop bite.

Pours lemon yellow with a nice white picket fence cap of plush suds. Aroma is muted. Sips start strong with a push of hops & interesting sourness akin to lemon rinds but ends with a slightly undesirable coppery after taste that really shouldn’t be there. An interesting beer but the after taste is like making plans with your best drinking buddy only to learn he’s bringing his old lady with him. nimbleprop (8750) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 15, 2013
On tap at Belga Cafe. Pours a clear gold with some lacing, white head. Nose is lightly sweet, chewy malts, bread, lemon, grass. Flavor is lightly sweet, grass, lemon, white bread. Surprised the malt is less in the mouth. Crisp finish. Ratman197 (15364) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 5, 2013
Bomber poured a clear yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of bread spicy hops and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of bread and light earthiness with a smooth finish. Dr_Fellini (1020) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Bottle to glass. Pours a hazy light golden color with a moderate frothy white head. Aroma is very light with a light citrusy lager yeast character. Flavor is a mild sweetness and bitterness with both lingering in the finish. Very light in body. For a lager, quite tasty.
