3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Begins with a punch of pine hops, that fades into a caramel aroma. Pours a dark red, that can be seen through when held up to the light, with a lasting white head. Dark fruit notes come forward in this beer, with support from the malts. It ends in a roasted finish, with hints of bitterness coming through. Very interesting Imperial Red, although I don’t know if I’d say it’s extremely strong at 8% ABV.
On tap at the Denver taproom during ck1 birthday trip. This is an imperial red, but not an American Strong. Hoppy red, yes. Amber plus, yes. Not an AmStr. Shrug? Solid and tasty brew. Malt led. Some hops. 13.5 nosajhongkong (82) - North Point, HONG KONG - AUG 6, 2016
On tap at Coedo Taproom at Causeway Bay HK.
Appearance: Pours a dark red colour with thin to medium tan head.
Aroma: Resin, pine, dark fruits, roasted caramel malt, blackcurrant and some floral notes.
Taste: Medium roasted malt and hop bitterness. Taste of resin and dark fruits with some subtle creamy and vanilla sweetness.
Palate: Medium to full body. Creamy and smooth texture with bitter roasted malt and dark fruit aftertaste.
Overall: A balanced red ale that has pronounce and rich resin, dark fruits and roasted malt character. A little bit feels like a lighter version of barleywine. stefannilssons (1580) - SWEDEN - JUL 13, 2016

release 45 @ 8.6% from Beermongers. First taste is “double IPA” then the malt comes on—dank, with a sharp piercing bitterness, leather, alcohol, toffee. Aromatically lime, caramel, leather and mint. tan head, darkish amber clear body. Balanced, active, warming finish.
