Bottle 0.5l. Almost black colour. Beige long head with good lacing. Aroma is rich of notes like dark fruits, chocolate, cherry in chocolate, roast, the oxidation notes ares much noticeable and very nice. Beer is dry at the beginning with chocolate, coffee notes, medium, roast bitterness and delicate fruity-sweet finish and also subtle sour in aftertatse. Medium to full body, a little bit sticky in the mouth, smooth, soft carbonated. Nice RIS with quite big influence of dark fruits and vintage notes. lello4ever (1285) - ITALY - SEP 8, 2017

Pours an inky black with red tinge and thin head. Sweet scents of sultanas, figs, fruit cake, treacle, coffee, anniseed, chocolate and brandy. Sweet roasted malts upfront, smooth syrupy texture with tar, rum and rasin aftermath. Pine and sultana fruit flavours in the background. Good bitterness throughout and peaking at the end. Plenty of esters. A good winter warmer. GuideDogSaint (1817) - Xiamen, CHINA - JUN 11, 2017

A terrific stout. Quite sweet tons of vanilla with a slight coconut edge. Quite a lot of chocolate with some bananas in there as well. Alcahol comes through but is a mix between a stout and a porter. wrlangin (230) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 6, 2016
500 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours dark brown to black. Aroma is toasted malt and maybe some bitter chocolate. Flavours are robust roasted malt, bitter chocolate, and coffee. Medium body. This beer is somewhere between an imperial porter and imperial stout. Ok by me either way. It's delicious.

Poured our black. 40ºSRM.
Nose is lightly plastic with cling wrap. There is a clean light fresh smoke that is reminiscent of cold coffee and cold brew. The nose at the end as it comes up to temperature has some nice umami depth to it, suggesting soy sauce.
Mouthfeel is heavy beery and almost soapy. Palate is black bread, dates,
Alcoholic all through the palate. Hops are noble and bitter. Burnt twigs, charcoal. The middle of the palate has some brief fruity flavors suggesting dates and plum preserves.
The finish is long and a little sticky with fruity, umami flavors lingering. Not unpleasant at all, especially if you’re a pipe smoker.
