Strykzone (7557) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2011
500 ml bottle. A clear golden pour that has lots of very active carbonation rising. A gold tinted fluffy head leaves some lacing. The nose is grain and soft fruit. The hops are tasted first and they are floral and citrus. There is also some grass. Light bitterness comes through. A bit of biscuit. This is nice light drinking.

ALLOVATE (3055) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 11, 2011
Just going to come off looking like an arse on this one but, with all the hype behind it and with regards to the joint collaboration of some 40 odd breweries going into it I do plead ignorance for not knowing the complete story. So rating from a purely beer loving perspective, f*%k was this a.....
Pours a bright orange tinged gold, thin looking, and very sparsely beaded. Shortlived fluff, just off white, the pour was less than lifeless. No more than a ring on the meniscus to dwell, no lace. Pronounced honeydew at first on the nose, then its all raw lemongrass, truckloads of bamboo, treated plywood, toothpicks and swamp-bound, musty weeds. Obscenely dry in the mouth, unbalanced from get-go. Piney, resinous, lots of straw, toothpick, and that bamboo I’ve never seen before in a beer. Acrid, metallic, sharp and almost acidic finish that lingers far too long. Faint bubblegum, rubber bands, ugh, Play-doh, f**kin’ ’ell! Sadly my partner couldn’t quite grasp it and sided for goon instead. (50cL, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

Brenhophead (695) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 5, 2011
Pours a nice golden colour with nice white head. Nice combo of malt and citrus fruits on the nose, a very nice citrus biscuit malt flavour to it. Over all this is a very nice beer.

Stew41 (2066) - Phuket, THAILAND - NOV 4, 2011
Clearly a strong beer for the style. Lean and hoppy with clean bitterness and a distinct lack of sweetness and thickness from both the hops and malts. A good thing in this instance and makes for a dry warm weather style. Faint passionfruit to finish.

mkel07 (6239) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 1, 2011
500ml bottle. Bright golden amber with a thick foam head and clear in the glass when held to the light. Fruit aromas of pear, passionfruit sweetness. Strong perfumey flavour that holds well in the mouth. Good strong finish leaves a dryness on the palate.

beer4eternity (226) - Tauranga, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 26, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2011 Aroma: astounding array of delicious hop aromas - tropical fruit aromas abound, pine, resin, citrus, floral, a bit grassy, amongst the hop forest are seedlings of malt - caramel and straw mostly, honey, a bit of medicine and ginger. Appearance: clear sparkling vibrant deep golden hue, large white frothy slowly diminishing head, good lacing. Its says to me "drink me" so far. Taste: is superb - moderate sweetness, delicate sourness, when swallowed the bitterness butts in and doesn’t leave in a hurry. Palate: medium body, lightly creamy texture, fine tingly carbonation, one to hold on to before swallowing it, long dry mildly peppery finish. Overall: I’m easily won over by a beer with a shed load of Riwaka hops in it but this beer has much more than just that, another sensational sensory experience.

Subtlehop aroma, straw colour with nice white head. Great hop balance but not too hoppy.

maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2012 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Clear golden pour with a large, fluffy white head. Aroma is full of punchbowl fruits, citrus and floral undertones. Backed by a biscuity malt. Lots of stone fruits, citrus and flowers in the taste. Slightly sweet. Rather disappointing considering this beer is supposed to be representing NZ brewing. Just comes across as a bit of a mish mash

Clear pale golden body with short head. Grapefruit on the nose and in the taste also fairly grassy in both to me, easily drinkable.
