A perfect beverage to relax with after a long day on the slopes, this extremely pleasant to drink ale has very minimal hop addition. The delicate Mt. Hood hops give it a smooth body with a bit of nuttiness and a slightly sweet malt at the end. This sessionable ale has some wonderful vanilla and honey notes that are well balanced throughout the drink.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2014 Pint at Euclid Hall. Pours cloudy copper with a huge white head. Aroma is muted with earth, tiny roast and far off metallic hints. Body is medium light. The flavor is predominantly malty with hints at earth, distant fruits, gentle Euro hop bite and a grainy finish. Decent enough.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2014 Draft. Pours a medium, well retained light ivory head, with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is cereal, light taste, biscuit, no esters, very minimal hop tones.....taste is dry, with moderate light roast malts, with toast, biscuit tones, mild to moderately bitter o the finish, tiny bit of sour as it warms.....mouth feel, light of medium body, no astringency, slight tingle from carbonation. This has a relatively high, not unheard of ABV for the style, and really could use more dark roasted malts to increase the cocoa, chocolate, coffee type tones in both aroma and flavor. BJCP 7/3/10/4/6 651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick well retained, off white head, over a slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 15) body......nose is light toasted malts with biscuit, toast, cereal tones, minimal hops and esters.....taste is sweet, with light cereal malts, no esters, minimal hop flavors or bitterness.....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, minimal carbonation. This misses the style almost totally, is boring and needs an almost complete re-work of the recipe. BJCP 5/2/9/3/5

Bottle @ home, picked up at Epics taproom in Denver. Pours a hazy dark orange appearance with a foamy off white head. Aroma is somewhat grassy / earthy. Theres some nuttiness to it as well. Kind of doughy. Decent body. Maybe just a hint of butterscotch in the flavor. Doughy / caramel / a touch sweet malty flavor. Short aftertaste. Not all that impressive but not a poor showing.

Clear darkish golden under a thin and laceful white head. Nose is creamy and blonde malty with a note of biscuity caramel and a light kiss of corn. Flavor is surprisingly medium bodied with notes of toast and blonde grains, and english muffin. Lageresque without that weird yeasty tone, though still plenty bready and blonde and lacking bitterness. Lots of blonde toast flavors.

Nice but not great, though admittedly, not my preferred style. Well done for what it is, I suppose, though like AB and Coors trying to make "crafty" beers, true craft beer artisans probably are better off doing what they do well - make GREAT beers.

Release #15 Pours amber with a solid sheet of off white fine foam, great clarity. Nose carries a sweet bread character, some metal, leaves, wood, white grape jelly, and the slightest hint of connecticut leaf tobacco. Flavor is a bit astringent, some cardboard, some loose grain, a bit of oatmeal (plain), some raisin, and a hint of pekoe. Medium bodied with moderate carb and an off dry finish. Nice beer I can appreciate. Serving type: bottle 09-18-2012

Draft at Euclid Hall in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a smallish light khaki head. The aroma is grain, earthy grass, mineral and a soft hint of fruit citrus. The taste is the cracker malt, primarily, though the earthiness and the soft orange fruit citrus does peek out near the finish. The palate is light bodied, soft carbonation, and the mineral carries the finish. Simple, straight forward clean beer. Hit the spot.
