fiery1 (1818) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 18, 2018
375ml bottle @ Matt's. Pours an fairly opaque dark and rich amber brown colour with a small off-white head. Nose is sour plums with a faint hint of whiskey barrels. Flavour is delicious sour plums, sweet but equally acidic, the whiskey is really taking a back seat here. Nice flavour but perhaps too acidic, but still nice.

mcberko (20268) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 18, 2018
375mL bottle, pours an opaque deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out massive whiskey barrels, along with acidic plums, and booze. Flavour is along the same lines, with massive boozy whiskey barrels that combine with the tart plums to create an acidic character. Not convinced that the sourness and acidity go well with the whiskey barrels, but it's nicely done for what it is.

Sample at the tap room in Denver. Reddish-mahogany color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of dark fruit, oak, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of plum, oaky vanilla, yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is oaky and mildly tart with a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
