Bottle at Paul’s. Murky amber pour. Clean aroma with lemon peel and pine. Mild rye notes with a slight rye spice. Mild but well-balanced. Honorable mention goes to the fun name. Blairgus (4613) - California, USA - JUN 2, 2012
2 June 2012, bottle. Nose is definitely rye bread. Light brown and hazy. Thin/med body and a bit fizzy. Sweet rye malt. Nice.

Big blast of rye aromas, with a hint of lemon. Pours a reddish-amber, with a full white head. Nice and chewy mouthfeel, with a lot of spice notes from the rye. Finishes with a bit of roasted notes. This is a nice solid Rye beer, especially at under $4 a bomber. LtDan (1806) - Los Angeles County, California, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Appearance: Pours a dense amber brown with a white ring atop.ChazMania (669) - Oceanside, California, USA - MAY 24, 2012
Aroma: Rye toast, roasted peanuts.
Taste: Buttered rye toast, spicy Euro hop finish.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Prickly active bubbles.
Overall: The best Rye beer I’ve ever had. Very balanced, very flavorful.
Bomber poured into pint glass. Aroma is spicy, appearance is dark somewhat murky red/brown. Taste has a nice blast of rye bread with a finish of lemon peel. Nice body, easy drinking beer that offers a different taste on the Rye style.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Earth and caramel aroma with light spice. Lemon and earthy flavor with spice. Medium bodied. Lemon and earth lingers with spice. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Crazy how many new beers Epic keeps pumping out. There always seems to be a new one on the shelf. Handsome amber pour, not too much going on appearance-wise though it looks earthy and inviting enough. Nose was moderately floral and had just the faintest hint of spice to it, with leafy hops coming on as the beer opens up. Mouthfeel was medium, modestly spicy palate. The flavors overall were extremely understated, giving the impression that this is basically a moderately tweaked APA more than anything else. Certainly not too much rye that I can taste. Okay. bottle: Copper pour with a thin off white head.
aroma is bready, slightly grainy, light caramel sweetness. Light lemony citrus.
Flavour is bready malt, semi-sweet, some woody and light lemony hop, some peppery spice towards the finish.
Very drinkable. GnarlyGnome (770) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - APR 30, 2012
Bottle: pours a hazy copper with an off white, fluffy head. Aromas of bread and some fruit. It tastes like a nice combination of delicious bread with just enough citrusy hops to make it so it doesn’t overpower itself. Wonderful. Nuffield (4189) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - APR 27, 2012
Amber and clear. Bready, yeasty aroma with some light hopping, floral and slightly fruit. Flavor thins out a bit but is biscuity with a few light spice notes. Easy drinking but not rich. Still, a good value at $3.99.
