Bottle @ The Annex. Clear amber colored beer with white, sticky foam. A lot of caramel and bready malts. Sweet toast, too. Some hints of fruity esters and a hint of marshmallow. Maybe a touch of booze on the back end...somehow. There’s a hint of apple and pear as well. Sort of grainy. nsquishee (641) - Richfield, Minnesota, USA - JUN 16, 2011
Very malty start with a crisp light hop finish. Color is pale brown with little head. Aroma of rye with background sweetness. Not a bad beer for downing a few, but just don’t expect a very exciting and bold rye beer. For that, go with Founders Red Rye or Hop Rod Rye. Drake (13737) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 11, 2011

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a thick syrupy muddy opaque amber with a small and creamy off-white head. Pleasant fruity aroma. Surprisingly thick, sweet and grainy, again very fruity with a little late hops. The rye really adds here - in a pleasant way. 100912 madsberg (11770) - Søborg, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2012

Bottle from Release # 11. Pours with a hazed, chestnut brown (relatively light hued brown) with a just off-white head with decent retention and good lace. Aromas are malty, bready, a bit spicy, rye bread, nutty, lightly herbal, very low earth, some citrus. Not much yeast character. Flavors are bready, malty, nutty, clean. Slightly oily mouthfeel which is a bit odd. Quite dry, spicy, low carbonic bite. A touch of currant or fruit ester (mild) in the finish. Lively bubbles, pretty dry. Straight forward, good, spicy brown ale like beer. mile (3947) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 20, 2012
Bottle. Amber, cloudy, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel/light bread with light dark fruits - light tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - citrus hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel/light bread, light fruitiness, some grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel/bread, light fruitiness, some grapefruit - light citrus hoppyness. Too sweet - bred/rye just do not work for me.
