4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This tastes like cherry plum brandy, but on a rich, woodsy, frothy frame. It’s amazing how fruity it turns out, with woodiness, caramel, and sweet roasty-toastiness showing rare sides to themselves. There is a twist of bitters to keep it honest. The texture is a delight - - smooth, fine, zesty, supple carbonation. I know I’m going bonkers with the adjectives here, but it’s deserved. Yes, there is a booziness to it. A triumphal, swaggering booziness.
Medium brown pour with a cream colored head. Oakey aroma. Slightly tart with a nice aged oak flavor, almost no smokiness. nickd717 (4648) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Bomber sample at the tapless taproom in SLC. Hazy chestnut brown color with minimal head. Aroma is great, oak, vanilla, leather, toffee, bourbon, overripe fruit, candy sugar. Flavor is sweet, hot, prunes, dates, oak, bourbon. Can feel the heat on the palate. Medium full body, lower carbonation. Solid offering. hershiser2 (3064) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Bomber, Market Street Wine Shop Uptown, $11.99 Release #33, 9.6 abv.
Pours cloudy brown with no head. Well, not surprisingly, the aroma is smoked peat as well as oak. Also some overripe fruit. Taste is lightly sour fruit: banana, plum, lightly smoked peat, light oak, earth, alcohol. GarrettB (1583) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 7, 2016
August 27th, 2014 - Epic Brewing’s Smoked & Oaked begins our line-up of heavy hitters and sluggers. Cloudy, muddy, and impenetrable, it looks intimidating, bulky, and stoic. But the smell is surprisingly mild, even hard to catch. And the flavor is gentle up front too, as if the beast comes tamed. It starts slow, and works up to an amazing flavor combining elements of smoke and scotch, cigar and pipe tobacco, and some spices. TO summarize from my notes: "ERMAHGERD", one of the best flavors ever, cutting itself off in the aftertaste with a final kick of bourbon. This is so good, in fact, that we return for more at the end of our tasters, gluttonous and selfish, like the parents from Spirited Away as they turn to pigs, noshing on a magical feast. rdixon77 (2767) - Georgia, USA - AUG 23, 2016
At brewery over summer. As described, nicely balanced oaky, vanilla, mildly smoky, brown sugar, some Belgian. Pleasant.

En kraftig maltig öl där jästen har stort spelrum både i doft och smak. Rökigheten tar inte alls över som den gör i vissa fall och sötman är lagom. Kanske inte favoritstilen men ölen är inte dålig!

Tap at Craft Sukhumvit, Bangkok. Poured a murky dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet toffee caramel malt, alcohol. The flavour is strong sweet with a rich smooth oily, sweet malt, rich fruit, liqourice alcohol, light pepper spice palate and a bubbly mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Big rich and gorgeous. Just a little too sweet for me though. slowrunner77 (11938) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUN 5, 2016
A big malty and yeasty beer that shows a little barrel and a good dose of smoke. A really nice treat overall. drpimento (3576) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 14, 2016
a very rich brew. has a mild aroma. But the flavor more than makes up for it. Great marriage between Belgian and smoke. jsnicholas (615) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - APR 12, 2016
Bottle (22oz). Release #36. Dark golden. Muddy. Not much of a head. Very malty. Sweet. Some smoke and a little barrel. Quite good. Somewhat like a Belgian scotch ale.
