On tap at the Denver brewery. Deep, dark brown appearance with a lingering beige head. Mild aroma of light smoke, chocolate, dark malts, light coffee and light roast. Similar flavor, more pronounced smoke, malty and pretty smooth with light notes of caramel and toffee. Medium body, pretty easy drinking for a smoked beer. Nicely done overall. 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 1, 2015
Draft. Clear dark brown with a short tan colored head. Chocolate malt and faint roast in the aroma with minimal smoke, something that blends into the roast profile more than stands out. The dark caramel / chocolate / coffee maltiness is generic and there’s faint huskiness. Lightly sweet with medium-low bitterness and medium acidity. Carbonation is a little brash and fizzy and the finish is short and syrupy. No major problems but it’s very plain in aroma and flavor and the texture isn’t remarkable. arminjewell (9688) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2015
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of cocoa, roast, ashes, some smoky notes into a bit of caramel, slight dark fruit in there as well. Taste was ashy and smoky up front into nice caramel, sweet cocoa powder, some slight roast and coffee as well, finishing bitter, smoky.

Poured from bottle, pours a very dark brown almost black with a thin tan head, the aroma has a decent amount of smoke mixed in with a chocolate backing, the flavor has a slight smoke and chocolate front end with a sweeter finish, decent mouthfeel, not bad. onceblind (9869) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2014
Black pour with a tight foamy light khaki head. Nice smokey nose with a sweet earthy cocoa bit. Good roasty flavour with a fair dose of roasted black malt and cocoa. Delightful and balanced. Just roasty enough and toasty.

22oz bottle split with the one known only as Anndiesel. Chunky brown burgundy black body. Steady beige head. Pleasant chocolate tinged smoky aroma. Mild and drinkable, this really nails it for the style. Smooth and sweet. Bigger side of medium bodied. Right on. milewide (2260) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 10, 2014
Light smoke in decent, but too sweet, porter. Certainly not the equal of Alaskan Smoked Porter. monk191 (2008) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 23, 2014
An ok porter, a little boring. Pours a beautiful deep amber/black color. Smells sweet with a bit of smokiness. Taste is smooth but nothing memorable, a little smokiness in the finish. Had on tap at the brewery. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - AUG 9, 2014
