Release 16 from 2012. Pours deep brown with pale tan head. Initial aroma is strong sweet chocolate, changes to more subtle coffee. Fairly light mouthfeel for a porter, but what you’d expect at 6%. Smokiness comes on pretty strong at the finish, with a little hop and dark malt bitterness. Stuu666 (15248) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 26, 2014

Firm black and greyed sandy ringed head. Rich charcoal and maltish nose. Fervent enough carbonation but fading bitterness and clinging sweetness. Peppery finish but dilutes as it lingers.cgarvieuk (26365) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 25, 2014

Draft. Pours an initially thick, poorly retained, light beige head, with some lacing over a hazy, brown (SRM 25) body.....nose is light smoke, medium roasted malt tones, with cocoa, light chocolate, no esters, very mild toffee/caramel no esters or hops.....taste is light smoke, mild cocoa chocolate, slightly sweet with hints of caramel, no esters, finishing mildly bitter.....mouth feel, body light of medium, no alcohol, slightly sticky, moderate acid on the finish. This is a light take on a Porter. The smoke and roasted malts are quite light. The recipe need more from both mid level, (caramel/crystal0 and from the dark roasted malts. The hops are light, and except for the smoke the could almost be a Brown Porter. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6 Ferris (17070) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 20, 2014
