Tap @ the brewery tap room. Pours a dark brown, reddish beer with a medium sized, creamy beige head on top. Aroma of ashes, smoke and roasted malts. Bomber from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This beer pours very dark with a little red. A nice three finger beige head has nice retention. A smoked aroma with peat and a little meat. The flavor is just as smoky and it is campfire with burnt wood. Some cooked brown sugar. This beer is full of malts and hops, if they are there, must be deep underneath. It gets a little earthy with warming. Very late I finally get some hops and they might be noble with sulfur. They bring a bit of spice. Coffee and chocolate are light with the smoke being dominant. Dark mahogany pour with hints of squid ink and a small latte head. Cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, and dark chocolate. Missing the pork butt and vanilla hint that I get in a lot of these. Not as robust and aggressive as I would have enjoyed. Meh.

Aroma of smoke and roasted malts. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head which forms a tan ring and no lacing. The taste is mildly bitter. 22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass; release 11, bottled 2/19/2012. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, caramel, smoke, light char, light coffee, raisin, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of roasted malt notes with moderate smoke; and decent strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, smoke, caramel, light coffee, and light fruitiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, smoke, caramel, toast, and light coffee on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of roasted malt and smoke flavors with good complexity; and no cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. 65cl bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. Moderate smoked aromas, somenuts. Pours quite dark, with average brown head, vanishing. Light to medium body, soft carbonation and oily texture. Not as much smoke as I would like. Black with thick foam, fairly thick palate on this beer Heavily roasted, and an almost burnt grain flavor in some sips. Some malt sweetness and charred wood in the flavor, as well as a hint of wood smoke.
