COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spiral Jetty India Pale Ale is the launching point in our series of hoppy IPA brews. Spiral Jetty IPA has an aggressive hop profile (five different hops used here with two in the dry hop) presenting citrus, floral, resinous or pine aromas and flavors typical of American hops and a nice pleasant, cleansing bitterness on the finish. The dominance of the hops helps to balance the complex malt flavors and the higher alcohol content. Spiral Jetty is our strongest Classic Series ale at 6.6% alcohol by volume, but certainly not our strongest beer.

Piney, citrus hops are very balanced and smooth. One of the more balanced ipas and not overpowering. Great bouquet of hop aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Utah liquor store park city. Pours orange with a half inch of foam. Leaves lots of lacing. A bit of floral on the nose. Slightly resinous on the tongue. Has some solid hop bitterness on the finish. Solid but not spectacular.

"Reminiscent of a good English iPa. Not my first choice but this has redeeming qualities. There’s an ever so slight aroma and flavor of cedar in the background which is this beers saving grace. For all the hoopla of the different hops and double dry hopping, it’s very tame for an iPa, more like a pale ale. Good balance and a hint of fruit. Maybe hopper fresh-no bottle date. Bottle courtesy of Travis."

Bomber form Pace High Carryout. Hazy orange pour with a thin foamy white head. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, floral. Tastes are along that line - heavy on the grapefruit with grass, little wheat, caramel, little yeasty. Yeah, like this one.

Poured from a bomber with no drink by date. Aroma - Orange peel dominates the aroma, not my favorite. Other tropical fruits are coming thru, but after the orange. Appearance - Poured a finger’s worth of creamy eggshell color head. Cloudy golden color. Lots of bubbles coming up from the top. Taste - Definately lacks an IPA mouthfeel that I like. Too light, not enough mouthfeel. Plenty of carbonation - just doesn’t have what I am looking for. Palate - Iight/oil body feel...very thin. Overall - Glad I tried another Epic brewing beer, this one didn’t live up to the last one. OK beer, not great. Would need to seek it out again

Clear golden under a thin foamy white head. Nose is a bit piney and floral, with little else besides a little resinous bitterness. Flavor was the same; light pine, medium resinous bitterness, some leafy and floral hops, and a clean pale malt and kinda piney finish. Just ok.

Bottle. Amber beer with a nice cream head. Citrus and floral aroma. Citrus flavor with light pine and light floral notes. Medium bodied. Decent bitterness. Citrus and floral lingers.

Butters (4063) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 5, 2014
Bright clear copper amber pour with decent near white head and some sticky lacing. nose of butterscotch and light citrus hops. Flavor is more floral, with a foresty/piney hoppiness and a citrusy twinge that leaves a clean green hop bitterness on the finish. pretty solid ipa.

Some time back we had a number of visitors staying with us. For fun, they took turns going out and picking up varieties of beer. I kept notes about what we thought about each, but can not find them anywhere. I did find a bag of empties from that time period, so thought I would at least record those w/o commet and ratings from memory. This is one of those. (When I do find the notes it will be interesting to see how close I came)
