Nice but simple aroma of roasted malts and fusels. Thin, dry taste that leaves me a little disappointed.

500ml bottle. Dark reddish-brown-black, beige head. Big, malty nose, lots of toasted notes, smoke, ashes, charcoal, toffee, hops, vanilla (?), Coke, chestnut, coffe beans, mint, licorice. Dry, medium bodied, quite lively CO2, medium bitterness. Rich, malty, roasted taste, lots of coffee, smoky notes, ashes, mint, hazelnut, faintly hoppy, licorice. Highly drinkable, the alcohol is well disguised. Dry, spicy, ashy finish. (2011-02-26)

bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 14, 2011
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown. Some reddish tinges when held up to the light. Smallish tan coloured head. A little lacing as it falls away. Decent aromas of roasted malt, sweet light caramel and perhaps a little espresso coffee. Noce. Taste is dominate by a slightly sour bitter finish thanks to the roasted malt. Quite thin mouthfeel. Not the best stout but you could certainly knock back a couple.
