3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Russet brown with a quickly fading head. Big wafts of lemon and pine needles from the hop. Oddly light, and sweet, when first in the mouth, but quickly moves to a full resiny hop sensation. It’s big and smooth, nice malt here filling in the gaps under the hops, which are almost - but not quite - hitting the sort of flavours I’ve had from Yakima hops. Not bad, but not great either. Something’s not quite gelling here for me; the hops are bit too resiny rather than flavourful, and the malt means it’s a bit lingeringly oily on the palate. But I think I’ll try it again, just to make sure...
Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique June 2013. Quite hoppy and not bad as far as IPA’s go. Not outstanding but certainly not the worst that I have had. varanid99 (1205) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2013
Gold - copper pour with pale orange head which quickly disappears (like soft drink). Aroma is pine, lime marmalade, toffee. Taste is slightly burnt caramel, lime, grapefruit, fairly strong bitterness which persists with the citrus taste. beer-yum (1706) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 15, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2015 Yet another great beer from Epic (aptly named). This blended hop IPA is just asking to be compared to their single hop Mosaic. While I’m sure I’ll eventually prefer one over the other I’m happy to keep an open mind and draining glasses of both! Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 16, 2013
Hazy amber. Aroma is actually quite chewy. There’s some light fruity character, accented towards tropical fruit. On the palate, it is lighter, with brighter hops, albeit with a lot if crystal still messing with it. ComradeK (1236) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 25, 2013
500ml bottle. Pours a fairly clear copper amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma has some nutty malt, along with some almost charry toast and pine resin and preserved lemon hops notes. Sappy herbal and pine hops up front offer a hint of pineapple leading into nutty, toasty malt in the mid-palate. A touch of preserved lemon mixes well with toasty malt in the finish. A nice IPA, with some slightly unusual hops flavours to help it stand out a little.

Maybe it’s not fresh, but this is a nice beer but pretty subdued, a little timid even. Nice enough but not outstanding pmuzz (400) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 21, 2013
This beer is deceiving, it both looks great and smells amazing, however, it is all downhill from there. A rather insipid offering with no real punch for an IPA.
Such a shame! bmeup (679) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - JAN 25, 2013
Coppery orange, minimal head. Malty citrus aroma. Really hopy bitter taste with lots of resin in the palate. Not overly impressed with this. Fresh stock, best before 18.6.2013. Would interested in other reviews from this batch. jonnyguns (1105) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 15, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2013 Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a deep copper with a fluffy white head. Aromas of grapefruit, floral hops and pine. Taste has caramel malts coming through combining well with the grapefruit and tropical lychee like flavours. All about the grapefruit bitterness in this one! Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone jonno (2761) - JAPAN - DEC 12, 2012
Big, rambling hops on the nose and mouth - lots of luplin. Tons of citrus pine hops. Very little body really gives this no balance and almost threatens to unseat my enjoyment of this brew. Still it’s good for all your hop needs.
