Deep golden pour. The nose is quite earthy and a bit peppery. Has a touch of citrus and light resin. Malt is fairly assertive and distinctive with a nice chewiness. Slight cookie dough quality and a bit of lingering sweetness. Decent.

Sweet beer with strong taste of pineapple and some licorice, with warming alcohol and and bitterness that comes late but lingers. Little too sweet for me, even for an IIPA

Bottle in Porto...pours a yellow amber colour slight haze....good head that dissipates leaving lacings....over the top pineapple, really intense a little like canned pineapple...some peach action...sweet start to the taste, pineapple taste, some malt but not dominate.....light bitter finish that builds in the aftertaste (odd)...medium carbonation with medium to light body.....quite a good beer

Bue en bouteille de 33cl. Couleur ambrée caramel. Mousse blanche. Nez joliment houblonné, note de pin. Palais équilibré, belle complexité. Arômes de houblon, alcool présent, pas de sucre, malt, caramel, pointe boisée. Ensemble délicieux.

Delightful brew. Very resinous and sticky with tons of fruity and pine notes. Pours a bright golden honey tone with a sticky off white head that dies instantly. Fresh and vibrant. Good ipa.

33cl bottle from cervejaportuguesa.com. Dark gold color. Thin and quite persistent white head. Medium body. Taste is medium to high bitter. Sweetness is light. Aroma is hoppy, piney, citric, a bit earthy, but good!

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2015 33cl bottle from the brewer. Almost clear amber colour with a nice white head. Nice retention. Pine, light tropical fruits and caramel in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is bitter with some sweet caramel notes but balanced with piny and earth notes. Overall, a very good beer.

My Bottom Line:
Earthy hop resins make a bold statement in this Double IPA, developing mild menthol/eucalyptus notes amidst muddled caramelized cereal sugars.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A stable head of foam decorates the hazy dark amber.
-This is surprisingly easy drinking despite the focus on earthiness and coniferous resins.
-The soft, ample effervescence helps the mouthfeel greatly.
-There is a light fruit presence in here, but not nearly enough to make this brew stand out in the Double IPA.
-On the other hand, this remains a great hop fix when in Portugal, I’m certain!

Bottle.
