COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Red Dwarf is an American style amber ale. Deep copper in color with a light tan head. A slightly resinous hop aroma gives way to balancing malt sweetness. A moderate bitterness balances a slightly sweet, caramel like malt flavor. A pine like, somewhat citrusy hop flavor lingers in the finish. ABV 5.3% / IBU: 34

Out of a growler from the brewery. Poured a clear amber-orange color with an inch thick, full, bubbly off-white head that slowly faded to a bubbly layer and left some thick sheets of lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, light toasted grain, a moderate nuttiness, and a light earthy hoppiness. Smooth, lightly sweet entry with some light carmel and toasted grain that gives way to a lightly bitter, earthy hoppiness with the slightest hint of citrus fruit that transitions into a moderate, almost coffee-like sweetness that lingers into the finish. Moderate carbonation and average mouth feel. Overall, its a decent amber that doesn’t really stand out but it is smooth and unoffensive.

On tap at the brewery. Reddish amber appearance with a white head and light lacing. Malty and pretty clean with notes of toffee, light bitter hops, caramel, pine and citrus. Mild bittersweet finish. Not bad.

Not bad. Little more hops than I want, but good. It did balance the malt and hops well as advertised. Does have a slight grapefruit citrus finish.

Sampled at the brewery. The aroma is citrusy, pine, big American hop character, some soft bready malts show. The flavor is toasted malts, caramel, bready, the hop profile is subtle compared to the flavor. This beer makes all six of my nipples tingle.

On tap at the brewery, this pours deep amber with a tiny ring of suds. The nose is very faint, of hops. Flavors of light grains, resinous hops, toasted caramel and citric notes. The finish is an appropriately lingering bitter. Decent red, and sessionable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is hazy red with white head, aroma brings notes of grass and pine hops, some slight burnt sugars, biscuit, hints of toffee and some spice in there as well. Taste is a mix of bitter pine and grass, sweet caramel and toffee, the slight burnt character, hints of spice, finishing fairly dry but a mix of bitter and sweet. Interesting brew.

On a recent trip to Fort Collins with friends, we had the opportunity to try this one on tap at the brewery. Poured a nice orange color with a nice off-white head. Aromas of toasted malt, caramel and earth. On the palate, this one is light to medium bodied, with flavors of caramel, toasted malt and earth.
