ScorpyX (18) - USA - MAR 6, 2011
App: Golden peach. Very cloudy. Two-finger head pour.
Ar: Hoppy smell with spicy, floral notes.
T: Bitter and hoppy like one would expect. A fruity, almost apple taste. A strong sour taste follows with more malts emerging on the swallow.
P: High carbonation. Crisp but heavy.
A little too heavy for me to have multiple. One of the beers of the style I’ve enjoyed quite a bit, though.
This beer was created by Homebrewer of the Year Remi Bonnart and sold for a limited time at Equinox. Though if they ever bring him back to brew it again, I’ll be there. ajnepple (6625) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 24, 2013
On tap at Equinox. Golden and cloudy. Fantastic aroma of citrus fruits, funky yeast and spices/herbs. I could smell this brew all day! Flavor of tropical fruit and spicy hops with a yeasty dry finish. Nicely done. BlackForestCO (978) - Aurora, Colorado, USA - JAN 23, 2011
On tap at the brewery. Poured a clear golden-copper color with a thin, dense white head that left some spotty lacing. Aroma of dusty, doughy yeast, honey, dried fruits (tangerine, apricots), and a more citrusy, earthy hoppiness with some light pine. Smooth, lightly tart citrus entry leads into a doughy yeastiness with soft hints of citrus fruit leads into a spicy, crisp finish paired with some moderately resiny, earthy, bitter hops. Crisp, biting carbonation that does a good job of complimenting the flavors. Overall, this is a solid example of a meld between a Belgian and IPA that produces a nice beer with some depth and an inviting crispness. notalush (5878) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 17, 2011
should probably be listed as a saison rather than an IPA - turbid golden pour - frothy head - nose is moderately phenolic, with dusty yeast and peppery phenols - flavor is lightly honey sweet up front, but is mostly dry and flinty, with moderate yeast phenols and peppery hops - dusty, earthy yeast - light tropical fruit - crisp, flinty, crackery finish - tasty. Ratman197 (14852) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 5, 2011
On tap at Equinox poured a hazy gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of pine, straw, citrus and yeast. Palae was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, yeast, grapefruit and lemon with a smooth dry bitter lingering yeasty finish.
BeerandBlues2 (13323) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Tap. Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium-small, fizzy white head, medium-short retention with good lacing. Aroma is fresh and fragrant citrus and tropical hops, tropical fruity esters, and Belgian yeast. Flavor is heavy Belgian yeast, fruity esters, tropical fruit and hops with a dry finish. Full-medium body, medium warmth and carbonation. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 15, 2012
(Draught) Pours a hazy golden body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of orange, pineapple, and herbs. Flavor of pineapple, herbs, orange, grain, and grass. nilbog (6) - Colorado, USA - MAR 19, 2013 does not count
Smells pinneapple mango corriander. Gold in color slightly cloudy. Nice citrus fruit flavor with some spice to compliment the hops. Well done best of both worlds. cubs (10636) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 3, 2011
On tap @ Equinox. Cloudy yellow-orane appearance with a fairly small white head. Yeasty, slightly wild, sweet Belgian ale nose with noted hoppiness. Flavor is even more hoppy with some pininess. Yeasty, citrusy, barnyard Belgian ale flavor. Bitter hoppy yet Belgian ale aftertaste. Interesting brew. 3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 4, 2011
draft. cloudy yellow. intensely fruity esters in the nose clash with pungent citrus hops, creating a highly powerful dried fruit aroma that irritates the olfactory system. medium body with moderate chewiness and creaminess. belgian yeast dominates flavor-wise: fruit, wheat, cream, soap, minerals and vitamins. bitter finish. the yeast strain clearly dominates the hops. not sure that’s what was intended or if it’s really that appealing.
