500 ml bottle. Golden-amber with a carbonation and a frothy head. Aroma of fresh bread dough, banana, some clove. Taste banana esters, wheat, clove, light sourness in finish.

Tried this one as the Erdinger Oktoberfest at Ottawa's Craft Beer Market. On tap as rotational beer, why not. Good beer.

A boring and vapid beer that, aside from appearance, has none of the desirable traits I'd look for in a Hefe.

oobawa (1728) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 14, 2017
Oddball festbier, combining the Bavarian blandness of a kristallweizen with slightly sweet marzen tones. Doesn't really work on either count, though, with a bready, almost yeasty tart front leaving little room for the caramel or toffee notes to take hold. Comes across almost hopless, with a seltzer-like back end and a mild, overcarbonated finish. Some toffee and apple on the nose, and the pour comes out a pretty hazed orange-gold, but overall not want you want for Oktoberfest.

33cl bottle. As Erdinger Oktoberfest. Best by May of 2018. Hazy straw, fizzy white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, faint banana. Taste is wheat, metallic notes, faint banana, yeast. Mildly sour finish.

klukas (348) - Rijeka, CROATIA - AUG 18, 2017
Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into weizen glass. Appearance: Hazy yellow/orange colour, with creamy head. Aroma: Yeast, malt, spices. Palate: Light body, medium to high (but somehow gentle) carbonation. Taste: Malt, yeast, spices, clove, sweet in beginning, slightly bitter finish. Overall impression: Quite tasty and enjoyable, drinkable, slightly different weizen beer.

Seems a little filtered. A bit bland. Lacks any of the defined characteristics of the best Hefeweizen. Perhaps designed to be drinkable in larger volumes during the festival season. Disappointing, yet perfectly drinkable.

Bottiglia.
