Labelled as Oktoberfest Weissbeir. Aroma of sweet grainy wheat, some banana. Starts lightly sweet with a touch of hop bitterness turning more bland toward a thinner smooth finish.

Tåkete strågult med fint hvitt skum. Svak floral duft med noe krydder og høy. Smaken også overaskende anonym med høy og noen blomstertoner. Fin friskhet.

Super tasty Fest Bier. There’s a nice grassy, phenolic, lemon citrus aroma when you pour it into the glass. Super cloudy like I would expect. It’s really nice looking beer in the glass. Taste is actually pretty sharp. There’s a lemon tanginess followed by some clove and a nice sweetness. It’s way too easy drink, goes down super smooth. One of the better Weissbiers I’ve had. Cheers.

CanCrusher (969) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - OCT 29, 2016
Bottle 0.50L. Hazy golden color with one finger of creamy white head. Aroma of banana, bubble gum, some spices and a hint of citruses. Taste starts light sweet with a lot of carbonation in mouth and nice, light sweet, malty finish. Medium to full body, creamy texture. Not bad at all, but still far away from perfect.

I spotted a bottle of this along with a bottle of the weissbier, which is widely available around town, at Wellcome supermarket down the road from me, so decided to drink and compare. Aroma: sour. Appearance: opaque amber, little or no head - not ANOTHER bad bottle?! Palate: soft carbonation, sweeter than the weissbier, with a longer finish. Taste: a marginal improvement on the weissbier, with banana notes. Still, nothing special.

Bottle into a masskrug. Pours a clear pale yellow, with a massive white head that rapidly fades. Nose is faint aroma of yeast. Taste is on the sweet side for a hefewiezen, but otherwise typical for the style, Not bad as a change of pace, but if it’s a German Hefeweizen you’re after, stick with Franziskaner.

Deep yellow pour almost gold. With creamy white head and clinging lace. Aroma is light medium malt with what I perceive as banana. Flavor is sweet malt start with no sign of the banana. Bitter finish is just about right for me on the style. Medium body with smooth carbonation. Seems to water out just at the end.

.33L bottle listing 5.7% ABV; served in a lager glass. Pours hazy amber with a towering, frothy white head that has excellent retention. Flavor: some typical German weissbier character (banana[ spice; wheat) with more balance and subtlety than usual. Feel: near light bodied with soft medium-high carbonation. Overall: excellent hefeweizen.

0,5 l bottle. Pours golden yellow with consistent thick white head. Aroma is malty and fruity, with little typical hefe banana and clove. Very mild aromas in general. Taste is on the sweet side, some yeast, malt, some fruitiness, pears and it’s slightly sour. Body is light to medium, oily texture and medium carbonation. Light bitter and sour finish. Far from top class hefeweizen, but nicely drinkable.

djoeye (4000) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 15, 2016
Aroma; hay, coriander, apple, toffee, sweet malts, white bread or bun. Look; dense white head and hazy bright golden body. Taste; wheat bread, tart with apple, crystal sugar, cinnamon note, caramels - leading to a mild sweet leafy finish. Feel; good body, up-tuned carbonation, mostly soft in the mouth. Overall; quality brew. ["Erdinger Oktoberfest" 50cl.btl 5.7% BB.07/17 t@Sånn Tromsø]

From tap as Erdinger Oktoberfest Weizen at Mi2 at Cardinal 10.10.16. Cloudy straw colour. Foamy, dense and persistent head and lacing. Moderate aroma of weissbier, green bananas, pale malt and wheat malt, with hints of tropical fruits. Similar taste. A bit waterish.
